Formed in the wake of the Revolution by insurance tycoon Hank Ryder, the Gunnlandian Chamber of Commerce is a powerful organization that acts as a consumer protection agency, a lobbying organization for big business, and a cooperative of major corporations. In its five years of operation, it has won the trust of the Gunnlandian consumer and also works closely with the government in times of economic crisis.

Ryder, the country's richest man, insists the GCC is a voluntary association, however recently companies complain they are boycotted by consumers and other firms alike if they decline to join. The GCC collects dues from its members, 10% of which it gives to the Gunnish Catholic Church. It is also a major donor to the Libertarian Party.
