Overview

The Reis is the official currency of Holy Panooly. One single Reis is worth practically nothing, so most items in Holy Panooly are priced in Mílreis (1000 Reis). All denominations are issued in paper, since (base)metals are too expensive, and there's no Mint to be found in Holy Panooly. Inflation continues to climb, and is at an uncomfortable 21% per annum. However, due to lack of central financial administration, many private currencies and counterfeits are also denominated variously, and named "Reis". This adds to the inflation index, although they are not even tied to the Reis, since all circlulating money is measured to calculate inflation.
