Introduction
The Faal-Corum is Friendly Alien's first, Prospect Class Mining Ship. It is made from the captured "shell" of a Perpendicular Titan Class Ship The Furior which came into Friendly Alien hands after the great war between the True Union vs The DSUT and The North.
After the war Friendly Aliens collected all the debris left after the sole space battle and also got a contract from Kegmenistan to scrap all of their ships which were left after the fight. This provided the Scaffold with plenty of material to create the Faal-Corum. Since little fresh material was needed to be brought up from the Alliance it was created with little expense and time.
The Faal Corum is expected to leave on the 1st of December 2006, the time in which it will return is uncertain.
Modifications
This is a list of most of the upgrades the Kodama recieved to become the Prospect Class.
-Enhanced Water Recycling and Storage facilities were built.
-One large hydrophonics farm was placed on the top of the ship.
-The HE Fusion reactor was supplimented with Biogenerators, HE solar cells and large batteries.
-Large Point Defence networks were installed with the purpose to destroy any foreign bodies which could threaten the ship i.e asteriods.
-Two large hanger pods were attached to the sides of the Titan. These hold Ramming Frigates, Carry All's, Howling Banshee fighters and other utility craft. They will also have construction facilities inside and a working area where large ore fragments can be broken down.
-Two refinery facilities were included into the hanger pods. These would refine the ore meaning the returning load will have alot more value.
-Five massive resource pods were attached to hold all refined resources collected. Four of these are designed to be detached from the Faal-Corum, when the Faal Corum reaches its destination it will anchor four of the pods in a safe place and collect them when they are needed. This saves the Faal-Corum for some potential risk. The fifth pod will stay with the Faal-Corum the entire trip and will hold any resources needed for any mid voyage construction and refining.
-Two rings at the front of the ship will be spun to create "cheap" artificial gravity. These will be additional recreational and residential areas.
-Since the personnel on the ship will be essentially living on the Faal-Corum the ship has large medical facilities and a feed to the interactive classrooms just incase some of the crew pair and make a child.
-The comms equipment on the Faal Corum are some of the most advanced ever produced in Friendly Aliens, they have to be so that the Faal Corum has an effective comunication link to the Alliance.
-The Faal-Corum has a large Research and Development facilty, this allows the crew to make on site reseach and help research at home, some tests can be performed on the Faal-Corum which would be unthinkable on the Alliance or the Nebula Space Station.
-Finally the Faal-Corum has been given almost a triple increase in speed by the inclusion of the Cylone Electron Drives surrounding the already existing engine.
All these systems have the potential of upgrade mid voyage. The Faal-Corum has the facilities to anything it wishes eventhough it is isolated from home.
Mission
The mission of the Faal Corum is three fold.
-Travel out to the closest most effective source of resources in deep space, mine until all of the resource pods are full and return as soon as possible to bring the wealth back to Friendly Aliens.
-To release whilst on the voyage as many comm relays as possible, these will have a crucial impact in the future.
-To perform as much worth while research as possible. Survey planets, test systems in the safety of deep space. The Faal Corum must be prepared to take on any projects which they are asked to do by the FANRI in Friendly Aliens.
The Faal-Corum is only expected to return home after the completion of the first objective. In any other situation the Faal-Corum is well equipped to handle it without returning home.
