Overview
5th SS Panzer "Zionbane" is the cream of the SS tank force. Formerly made up of Brznovian Red Tank Guards, this unit is now exclusively Skgorrian and has witnessed a massive rise in prestige thanks to its role in the War of Seperation. This unit is the first in the SS to have a female CO.
History
Whilst no full Panzer divisions were raised under Olgich Peter's Iron Rule from 1941-1944, af few SS Panzer regiments were raised using mostly second-rate Soviet or German equipment. None of these units bore the name "Zionbane", but the division traces its history back to these first formations.
Zionbane came into full existence during the War Of Seperation when a large portion of the Brznovian Red Tank Guards sided with the NSP. Fanatical and dedicated troops were pooled into a nascent SS division, which numbered just over two regiments worth of T-80 tanks and three batallions of mechanised infantry in BMP-2s. Initially they retained their Soviet ranks and insignia, though as the war dragged on insignia were gradually replaced with swastikas and the Skgorrian flag. Ziobane served in many key attacks, and spearheaded the abortive drive to take Grossetape. In the fighting retreat that followed, Zionbane took severe losses but retreated in good order and allowed many Army formations to escape.
After the war, the division had lost the overwhelming majority of its equipment and personnel, possesing only 32 usable T-80s and a handful of BMP-2s. It was widely recognised that the surviving soldiers of these formation were the best Skgorria had to offer.
