The Kipuka Free trade Zone is a trade hub located near Kipuka Island in north western Aysheaia.

The core of the FTZ is a small floating-type arcology. Previously used as a vacation resort, the Kipuka arcology was purchased by the Aysheaian government four years ago and refitted for its purpose as a trade hub. Extending west from the arcology are a set of floating causeways with mooring facilities and short-term storage warehouses. The complex is protected to the west by the Kipuka Island reef system, while artificial seabreaks provide protection around the rest of the complex.

The FTZ provides accommodations for a standing staff of 1200 - including a small security contingent - while the Kipuka Imperial Arms can house 800 guests in luxurious comfort. Apartments can house an additional 9000 on a longer term basis. The FTZ also hosts theaters, nightclubs, athletic clubs, an Aysheaian tourists center, and a shopping mall.

Trade in the FTZ:

  • Security
    • The Armed Forces of Aysheaia is responsible for security in the FTZ, and in the territorial waters surrounding it (out to 5 nm outside the seabreaks/Kipuka island).
    • No foreign warships may enter these waters without previous arrangements being made.
    • Weapons are banned within the FTZ.
      • This restriction includes weapons materials, such as ammunition and disassembled weapons.
      • This restriction does not include chemicals which may be processed into weapons.
  • Access to the FTZ:
    • All nations save those upon which Aysheaia have imposed a trade embargo may freely enter the FTZ.
  • Trade restrictions:
    • The FTZ is subject to Aysheaian trade restrictions regarding what can be imported and exported from the country.
      • Note, however, that a general exception has been made for the FTZ proper. This is to facilitate trade between third parties using the FTZ.
    • While Aysheaian trade is not exempt from tariffs in the FTZ, tariffs have been reduced to (depending on the materials) about 60% of their normal levels.
    • Trade between Aysheaia and nations with which it has trade agreements will be in accordance with the specific agreement.
  • Embassies:
    • Foreign nations are welcome to establish embassies in the FTZ. Due to space restrictions, these must necessarily be small. Weapons restrictions also hold on embassy grounds, though these embassies shall otherwise be considered the sovereign soil of their occupying nation for so long as the embassy agreement holds.
    • Note that, as in Aysheaia proper, embassy land is leased - not sold - to the occupying nation.
