History

See article: History of Moperville

The continents of Mopergaea, Progalu and Inactivo and surrounding smaller landmasses were first discovered and claimed by the expansionist Markodonian people, who named the region “Moperville”. The Markodonians were not however the oldest race ever to inhabit the region – shortly after their arrival the nation of Bunnidom was founded after these ancient peoples arrived under the leadership of Major Kerina. It was not long before other nations were founded and prospered. Talk began of forming a vast military alliance and crushing other nations before the might of the peoples of Moperville, but in the end the national governments decided to settle down and concern themselves merely with aiding or suppressing their own citizens.

Great civilizations rose and fell, but of these early states only three remain to this day: Dikala, Markodonia and Yuppers. Dikala has never been active in international affairs but Markodonia and Yuppers sustained a long friendly rivalry.

It was Inev of Yuppers who carried tales of the bountiful lands of Moperville to those who dwelled far and wide across the oceans, leading to the Second Great Wave of settlement in the region.

Moperville is home to many strange and unique substances, the most important of which are explored below.

Randomite

Orderonium

Orderonium was discovered in Northern Blurnsburg, and for a long time its existence was kept secret. The Northern Blurnsburgians did not want to divulge the secret of this dangerous substance.

Why is it dangerous? Orderonium actively resists change. It promotes stagnation and mindlessness. Those who experience its effects find their imagination sapped away, as well as their will to do anything new.

During the Great Goo War, Northern Blurnsburg was forced to reveal the existence of orderonium to the rest of Moperville, as it was capable of greatly weakening the goo. Since its intoduction, many nations have discovered their own veins of orderonium and have begun experimenting with it.

Some scientists hypothesize that the sudden resistance of the Northern Blurnsburgians was not a direct result of the Breaking, but rather the introduction of Moperville's vast amounts of randomite.

Orderonium produces a kind of "radiation" (best word to describe it) that is almost impossible to detect on its own. However, the effect of the radiation creates a distortion in the natural energy flows around it. This radiation neither increases nor decreases the local entropy; rather it somehow works to make the entopy remain constant. It is possible that this may make it useful for preserving foodstuffs, but there are much safer ways to do so.

A dramatic example of the danger of orderonium was the mysterious orderonium bombing of an island now known as Orderly Beings. It was once a part of Brodegstein, but after the bombing the island's now coldly logical inhabitants declared independence. It is not known if the inhabitants of the island, which is now covered by orderonium, can ever recover.

Combining Randomite and Orderonium

The combination of randomite and orderonium is a dangerous and foolhardy proposal. The two are direct opposites and the reaction of the two is deadly if the two are brought into close proximity. The radiation of the two battle and in the beginning, it appears that the randomite will win. However, the randomocity that gets through to the orderonium corrupts it, and the orderonium ceases to attempt to freeze things as they are. The orderonium then seeks to make it so that nothing will ever change. The only way it can do so is to cause a change itself: it causes everything within range to cease to exist. There is no bright flash of light, mushroom cloud, or bang: there is simply existence one moment, and non-existence the next.

This information was first discovered in a Northern Blurnsburgian laboratory. Most think so, anyways. The scientists there were attempting to discover what would happen if they could combine the randomite and orderonium when suddenly their transmission cut off. When inspectors arrived on the scene, the laboratory was gone. The ground the lab sat upon was cut in a nearly perfect semisphere. Even the rocks within the ground simply cut off. The same experiment was conducted by robots in a remote part of Blurnsburg with observers staying outside the predicted area of effect. At the same point he scientists were at, a sphere that none have been able to describe grew around the site of the experiment and, with a pop, disappeared, taking all within it with it.

When warned of this, some nations saw a military potential in randomite/orderonium bombs. Despite strong warnings from many scientists, at least one nation has been reported to have attempted to build a randomite/orderonium bomb. It is unknown whether or not they succeeded. Terrorists have also attempted to create such bombs, but all such attempts have failed.
