Prolude

The language Hoogs is, without a doubt, a direct result of Dutch colonial history in Guffingford. Following the long history of the language it did not had as much influence by foreign languages as Afrikaans has, but some things have been changed. Some English words have been included and turned to more Dutch variants. The word 'oxymoron' is a classic example. In English the word's oxymoron. In hoogs it is 'oxiemorn'. Same meaning, same pronunction but different spelling. Hoogs is probably one of the most phonetic languages in the world; every word is simplified until it is exactly written as pronounced. Note this only holds for verbs, nouns and adjectives.
