President for Life
An office in countries were there is technically a Republican Presidential system in place, but the President serves indefinitely, much like a monarch. The office is often associated with dictatorship’s and personality cults, and many governments view leaders taking such a title as illegitimate, lacking neither a democratic or royal mandate. One notable democratic exception is Sarzonia, where President Mike Sarzo serves a defacto life term and is widely viewed as legitimate, although not without major criticism from other democratic nations.
One of the most infamous Presidents for Life was Atne Pavelic, the brief leader of the Kravanian Fascist State before his defeat in The Pavelic War.
