The Cairhienen Corporation/CG-R1
The CG-R1 is the third member of the CG family of Gauss guns. It is a four stage gauss rifle, meaning it uses 4 electro magnets, perfectly timed, rather than explosives, to propel the projectile out of the barrel.
The R1 uses a different type of ammo than the CG-P1 or CG-A1. Instead of the 5x20mm cylinders, it uses a 2x25mm needle, leading to it's nickname the "Needler." The ammo is designed to be able to go clean through most materials at the speed it is launched, allowing a trained marksman to make a clean kill with a small entry and exit wound. The ammo is stored in a 10 round magazine for the sniper, or 25 for the combat.
The R1 uses a power cell integrated into the magazine, as opposed to one in the gun itself.
