Marble City

The Marble City, one of the miracles of architecture, is a truly gigantic single piece of marble carved into a small "city" at the heart of the Danaan capital of [[Tarana. The Marble City measures one kilometer by one kilometer and contains nine great buildings and several dozen smaller ones, all carved from the great block.

The Marble City still serves as the seat of the Danaan government, housing the Uasal Court Chambers, the Parliament Building, the Royal Palace, the Hall of Government, the Royal Library, the Royal Art Gallery, the Palace of Arms, and the National Chapel. It also contains the current residences of a number of prominent officials and a tour office.

Inside, the Marble City has been tampered with only as much as modern convenience and security demand. Because of the unique nature of the structure, it has been left in its original form as much as possible. The outer perimeter of the Marble City is fully secured by the Royal Guard and visitors must pass through a post-modern security checkpoint before they can enter the ancient structure.

The Marble City, because of its unique nature, its beautiful architecture, and its important function in the nation's public life, is the most popular single tourist attraction to be found anywhere in the Resurgent Dream. About 14,470 people pass through the checkpoints around the Marble City every day, the vast majority of them tourists.
