Nyiwa Mobutu

Nyiwa Mobutu (b. December 17, 1955) is the eldest child of President Mobutu Sese Seko. He is one of four sons born to Mobutu and his first wife, Marie-Antoinette Mobutu. Originally named Jean-Paul, he adopted the "authentic" name Nyiwa in 1972. He has been groomed by his father to succeed him upon his death. He has held a variety of cabinet posts in the past and has long been one of the most powerful members of both the government and the Mobutu family. He currently holds the coveted position of Political Director of the MPR.
