Midgon

The Original Stronghold

The City of Midgon is the Capital city of the Various Empires of Dhatsun. Originally a Stronghold held by the original Emperor built on the peak of a cliff; the city expanded, eventually buildiing down the cliff to create a huge seaport, one of the largest in the Spectrum. The city itself consists of eight districts:

Lowtown

Built on the small beaches surrounding the port, these fishing "villages" make up about 30% of Midgon's popluation and are a collection of shack towns representing the cheapest and simplest life found in the city. Although criticized as being the slums, Lowtown actually has a very low crime rate, and due to the recent refurbishment of medical facilities, Lowtown also boasts a good healthcare system.

Shopping District

About halfway up the cliffs the shopping district is found. Built on huge discs protuding from the cliff the shopping district connects directly to the port through 27 high speed passenger elevators and 46 freight elevators. The Shopping district mixes fine foods, expensive boutiques and a famous nightlife. It is also home to the world famous Sciion Hotel, whoch boasts themed rooms and fantastic ocean views. Has direct links to Port, Business, Midtown and Temple districts.

Midtown

Midtown is the main residential part of the city. Built on the rocky outcrops and the cliff-face surrounding the Shopping District, Midtown houses around 60% of Midgon's population. Originally very polluted, Midtown, along with the rest of the city, has cleaned up its act. New, modern apartments have sprung up over the outcrops, boasting incredible views at reasonable prices. It should also be noted that the older houses of midtown are currently undergoing a massive regeneration project. The fair quality of living and affordability along with its close proximity to the Shopping and Business Districts are the main reasons Midtown is popular with its citizens.

Government Level

The Government Level is the mind of Midgon and indeed, all of Dhatsun. Eclipsed by a colossal skyscraper, known as Dhatsun HQ, the Government Level contains the various embassies of the Spectral countries, along with the Dhatsun council, and indeed, the offices of Commanding Emperor Hamilton. Whilst the smaller buildings surrounding the HQ are given public access, all levels above floor 80 in HQ tower are for government officials only, where the higher levels require a greater level of clearance. It should be noted that only around 30 people have full access to the 108th floor, in which the Commanding Emperor's offices lie. The security system in the HQ is also worth a mention, as it has proven to be impervious to intruders and is looked upon by other countries as a basis for security with regards to governmental buildings.

It was the Government Level that recently was bombed. In which the embassy of Oldham Road was damaged, with the death of several citizens.
