Midgon

The Original Stronghold

The City of Midgon is the Capital city of the Various Empires of Dhatsun. Originally a Stronghold held by the original Emperor built on the peak of a cliff; the city expanded, eventually buildiing down the cliff to create a huge seaport, one of the largest in the Spectrum. The city itself consists of eight districts:

Lowtown

Built on the small beaches surrounding the port, these fishing "villages" make up about 30% of Midgon's popluation and are a collection of shack towns representing the cheapest and simplest life found in the city. Although criticized as being the slums, Lowtown actually has a very low crime rate, and due to the recent refurbishment of medical facilities, Lowtown also boasts a good healthcare system. Shopping District

About halfway up the cliffs the shopping district is found. Built on huge discs protuding from the cliff the shopping district connects directly to the port through 27 high speed passenger elevators and 46 freight elevators. The Shopping district mixes fine foods, expensive boutiques and a famous nightlife. It is also home to the world famous Sciion Hotel, whoch boasts themed rooms and fantastic ocean views. Travel district

The main link between Dhatsun and the rest of the Spectrum, the travel District contains the main terminal of the Dhatsun monorail (which links to the spectral monorail system). It also contains a 5-terminal Airport with links to major cities in all Spectral countries, excluding those currently labelled as terrorist states. Deep Earth Facility

The Deep Earth Facility is the military base of Midgon and its new stronghold. Built deep into the Great Cliff, The D.E.F. is home to superior surveillance equipment, extensive training systems and some of the most technically advanced weapons on the planet. The upper levels of the D.E.F. are also the headquarters of the intelligence agency S.A.B.R.E. It is rumoured that several nuclear weapons are stored in silos, capable of deployment in 45 minutes. Although the only official transport link is to the Government level, it is suggested that there are various emergency entrances and escape routes from the D.E.F. Direct links to: Government.

Business District

The Business district is where the branches and headquarters of the various multinational corporations that have based themselves in Dhatsun are located. Temple District

The remnants of the original stronghold of Datsai from which Midgon was built; the Temple District houses the major religions where citizens of any faith can come to peacefully reflect upon life and pray to their deities. The most common religions are: the Church of Dhatsun; Catholicism; Christianity; Judaism; Buddhism and Gob-jobism. Direct links to: All districts.

Midtown

Midtown is the main residential part of the city. Built on the rocky outcrops and the cliff-face surrounding the Shopping District, Midtown houses around 60% of Midgon's population. Originally very polluted, Midtown, along with the rest of the city, has cleaned up its act. New, modern apartments have sprung up over the outcrops, boasting incredible views at reasonable prices. It should also be noted that the older houses of midtown are currently undergoing a massive regeneration project. The fair quality of living and affordability along with its close proximity to the Shopping and Business Districts are the main reasons Midtown is popular with its citizens. Port Sector

The Port Sector is Dhatsun's home of trade. Boasting innumerous harbours catering for ships of all sizes, the port sector acts as the converging point of six major and 23 minor shipping routes. This causes it to be the largest and busiest port in the Spectrum. The port sector also contains 647 frieght elevators linking the port directly to the shopping district and travel district for trade and air shipping respectively. Hightown

Hightown is the home of the crème de la crème of Dhatsun. The powerful magnates mingle with the rich and famous in this marvel of architecture. Built surrounding the Dhatsun HQ and Government level, reaching over the Great Cliff, Hightown offers the finest living available in Dhatsun. With its opulent manors, stylish bachelor pads and futuristic abodes, Hightown is a famous spot where various Spectral celebrities own houses. Hightown makes up about 10% of Midgon's population. Government Level

The Government Level is the mind of Midgon and indeed, all of Dhatsun. Eclipsed by a colossal skyscraper, known as Dhatsun HQ, the Government Level contains the various embassies of the Spectral countries, along with the Dhatsun council, and indeed, the offices of Commanding Emperor Hamilton. Whilst the smaller buildings surrounding the HQ are given public access, all levels above floor 80 in HQ tower are for government officials only, where the higher levels require a greater level of clearance. It should be noted that only around 30 people have full access to the 108th floor, in which the Commanding Emperor's offices lie. The security system in the HQ is also worth a mention, as it has proven to be impervious to intruders and is looked upon by other countries as a basis for security with regards to governmental buildings.

It was the Government Level that recently was bombed. In which the embassy of Oldham Road was damaged, with the death of several citizens.
