Danno10

The Kingdom of Danno10 is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 419 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. The average income tax rate is 84%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Uranium Mining.

Rupert Bear is considered to be the most risqué TV programme in Danno10, retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites, the ban on cars has been repealed, and mining safety laws are often more expensive than what's being mined. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Danno10's national animal is the DoDo, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Pound.
