.cop is the country code top-level domain for the Commonwealth of Peoples and for organizations and citizens of Commonwealth member states which was launched on 24 October 2006. Trademark owners were given early registration privileges to prevent cybersquatting. Full public registration began on the 28th. The TLD is administered by the Commonwealth Registry for Internet Domains based in Solomon, the Resurgent Dream.
