A.N.S. Tempermental Class

The A.N.S. Tempermental Class is a new class of Light Mega Destroyers. They are essentially equipped and armed like the A.N.S. Charger Class of ships.

Role

The role of the Tempermental Class of ships is to bring as much firepower down on enemy targets with guns as possible, but also employ the tactical capability of helicopters and long range missiles.

Secondary Offensive Weapons

The Charger Class is also equipped with AMK.60 Tipper Mines. There are a maximum of 15 on any one ship.

The Charger Class is equipped with AMK.96 MOD 4 Stabilized 25mm Guns that can be maunally aimed and fired or controlled by an internal source from inside the ship.

Defensive Weapons

The ship is equipped with 4 A/SCL-2E Super-Rapid Bloom Defensive Chaff Launchers capable of preventing 9 out of 10 missile strikes. The A/SCL-2E is capable of lauching Chaff and A-TORCH flares. In each unit, there are 4 launch tubes. 2 are set at 45° and 2 are set at 60°.

The ship is also fitted with A/SBM-51 Prarie Air Bubble Creators. Air bubbles can be employed to mask potential targets or to provide alternate targets. The large difference in characteristic impedance (c) between the air bubbles and the surrounding water make them very efficient as reflectors of acoustic energy. Very little sound will penetrate a curtain of air bubbles, making them very efficient as masking for noise sources.

The armoring on Tempermental Class vessels is similar to Charger and November class vessels.
