The Achilles class heavy cruiser is part of Bryn Shander's Year 00 Rearmament Plan, and is designed to replace the aging Usagi class heavy cruiser. Though it may appear to be little more than a resized Suiseiseki class light cruiser, the Achilles is much more heavily armed by comparison, and has much greater defensive capability.
Fifty vessels of the class have been completed, and it is expected that more will be constructed in the future.
