Acigoo is a mysterious extraterrestrial goo-like substance that is rather acidic in nature, hence its name. It came to earth many years ago borne on a comet and devastating everything it touched, gnawing away at the land and spawning new life, starting from single-celled forms but progressing to an absurdly advanced state in an absurdly short timeframe; the end result was that acigoo generated lifeforms that simply slaughtered humans at their will.
Historically nations that have tried to sample the substance have found themselves overwhelmed by its power, consumed and destroyed; while the Wraith Cannon can slow its growth, there is no weapon today that is able to destroy it. The very creatures that come from it are strengthened by even nuclear strikes; the same goes for the substance itself. Acigoo can not be contained and grows without cease. Through a multinational effort the last seeds of Acigoo were collected and expelled from earth, sent through a space portal, never to grace the earth's face again.
