Acigoo

Acigoo is a mysterious extraterrestrial goo-like substance that is rather acidic in nature, hence its name. It came to earth many years ago borne on a comet and devastating everything it touched, gnawing away at the land and spawning new life, starting from single-celled forms but progressing to an absurdly advanced state in an absurdly short timeframe; the end result was that acigoo generated lifeforms that simply slaughtered humans at their will.

Historically nations that have tried to sample the substance have found themselves overwhelmed by its power, consumed and destroyed; while the Wraith Cannon can slow its growth, there is no weapon today that is able to destroy it. The very creatures that come from it are strengthened by even nuclear strikes; the same goes for the substance itself. Acigoo can not be contained and grows without cease. The one known exception is that localized differences in reality in certain nations render Acigoo unable to survive in those locations.

It is also reported that one such creature requires the full resources and abilities of twenty men to bring down.

Through a multinational effort the last seeds of Acigoo were collected and expelled from earth, sent through a space portal, never to grace the earth's face again.

Acigoo's Return

In November of 2004, however, Acigoo reportedly returned. A small asteroid that had been expected to miss earth struck directly on the capital city of Kongola, and there shortly after was confirmed the existence of Acigoo. Shortly after the acigoo was confirmed to be a beta strain and not the common strain that was recorded. This strain produced creatures that were far more violent and the strain was more prone to mutate people than to absorb them. It was also green.
