Acis CCAm, or acis (PAX800: ACS) is a publicly traded petroleum and renewable energies corporation, focussing in the exploration, induction, refining and sale of those products. Acis is based in Mandragora, Pacitalia, but operates in over seventy countries, with a workforce of just under 2,479,000 people. It is, then, as a result, one of the world's largest petroleum companies.

What they do

Petroleum

Petroleum is induced mostly from Acis' holdings in Pacitalia and the Khailfah al-Muslimeen. Currently, 34 countries use acis petroleum.

Service stations

Only Pacitalia and Moepoeia have acis service stations, but of those two countries together, they hold almost 3,400 service stations. acis' stations sell unleaded and leaded petroleum at varying grades of octane, as well as propane, diesel and hydrogen fuels. Most also sell motor oil, windshield fluid, and radiator coolant, do vehicle repair and have adjacent convenience stores and/or car washes.

Solar and renewables

Acis is one of the world's leaders in this field. Acis develops solar panels for commercial, industrial and residential use. The company also takes part in wind-turbine manufacturing for wind-based power plants. acis and the Moepoeian government are leading the charge to develop a larger market share for hydrogen-fuelled passenger vehicles and subsequently, service stations catering to those customers. In addition to that participation in hydrogen fuel, Acis is a leader in the production of such fuels and is a key sponsor of renewable energies conferences around the world.

History

The company that was to be known as Acis was founded on 19 August, 1873 by Marco Samoligra and Simione Pantagrela, who started the operation as the Beracanto Petroleum Group SpA. The two men originally considered calling their company PantaSamoli SpA, but portmanteau names were not popular or seen as linguistically ingenious at the time; thus, a more formal and decisive name was chosen.

BPG started out with three moderate-sized drilling sites, all of them within 25km of Mandragora, the city in Beracanto that was quickly emerging as the petroleum capital of Pacitalia. Its main site, near Gorena-Manustria, 19km south of Mandragora, had an introductory capacity of 8,700 barrels per day. The Gorena-Manustria site, which still exists today, was expanded in 1891, along with the site in North Mandragora, to 15,400 and 10,600, respectively.

By 1900, Acis was producing nearly 500,000 barrels a day from 324 pumps, and through 17 refineries. Operations were expanded to the Khailfah al-Muslimeen in 1934, which increased the total amount of pumps and wells to 389 and added six refineries.

Today, Acis is the largest petroleum company in Gholgoth with nearly 56,000 pumping stations and 258 refineries, which collectively produce over 94 million barrels of petroleum per day for 22 countries. The company's workforce of 215,000 is, next to the federal government and automakers Peruzzi and Infiniti, the fourth-largest in the country.

Praise and criticism

Acis consistently garners praise for its human-rights policies (as per those in third-world countries, and its treatment of its employees). It also gets praise from its prioritising of renewable energies as a future source of importance for the world economy. acis has seldom received criticism, but the UN oil-for-food scandal brought some attention on acis. Royal Dutch Shell and acis were the only two major global oil companies who were cleared of any involvement or wrongdoing in that UN program.

Acis is also admired for the fact that it has remained a largely family-run business over its history. Today, the great-grandson of Marco Samoligra serves as CEO, while the great-granddaughter of Simione Pantagrela serves as the chief financial officer.
