Election themes

One of the main themes of the election was definitely the constitutional reform, in which the state and religion would be separated from each other. The law did not pass as it was originally meant to because of the strong opposition of the then-federal president Arnold Dier van Skogen, but the meaning of the church was clearly lowered at the beginning of the year 2006, and the official long name of the country was changed Union of the Christian Republics of Adal to Federation of Adal. Påval Hindenskjöld, candidate of the Christian Democrats and supported by van Skogen, opposed the new law, as the only one who opposed it fully. Republican candidate Gernut Bogelsson and independent Sonja Oddenborg-Yrkesval-Hurgammal-Skrikesund-Strassburg-Burgenstein prefered the version that passed, and Reidar Finnehammar, Anders Lindén, Linda Björkesund and Jude Bjärnesson supported the original, strickter version. After Hindenskjöld had said he opposed the law, his poll support lowerd, but he still stayed at the top.

Sonja Oddenborg-Yrkesval-Hurgammal-Skrikesund-Strassburg-Burgenstein, independent, had as her main campaign theme the restoration of the Adalese monarchy, of which she promised to have a referendum if she won. She also proclaimed herslef as Queen Sonja of Adal, for her great-grandfather was King Christian IX, the last monarch of the Adalese kingdom.

A few days before the election, Jude Bjärnesson promised in a tv-debate free porn to every Adalese citizen, and his support rose hugely, and in the final election he got more than half of the given votes and became federal president.
