Adam County

Adam County is a historical city located on the south banks of the Adam River, to the south of Adamton and the west of Adamville. The Adam River runs through the city, splitting it into a "west bank" and "east bank." Adam County is considered a sports mecca, and develops many of Adam Island's best young talent. It is home to the Adam County Cats of the Adam Island Baseball League.

Brief History

Adam County has been the home of various human settlements dating back to prehistory. The formal rules of baseball were developed both in Adam County and its neighbor, Adamville. Along with its reputation as a sports pioneer, Adam County was an early home of the democratic movement that led to Adam Island's current democratic republican government, with such progressive thinkers as Vita Dimpfl and Jonah Petet claiming Adam County heritage.

Adam County was an important spot during the Rat Flu War. In early 2005, the Neo-Royalists took control of the city, and repaired its communications abilities that were damaged by nuclear war. On September 7, 2005, the Republic pushed the Neo-Royalists out of Adam County and Adamville in a massive battle. The Republic made Adam County a major base, commandeering its sports stadiums to stock supplies and hold troops.

Adam County quickly bounced-back when fighting declined, and was selected to host shooting events as part of the IDU's Olympic bid.

Adam City is home to numerous tourist attractions. Below is a partial list.

  • Adam County Field - Home of the Adam County Cats of the AIBL.
  • Cats Field - Soccer pitch that will host shooting events in the Summer Olympics I.

Transportation

Adam County Airport generally caters to intra-national travel, but occasionally accepts international flights. It is linked by highway to the south and east, and by ship along the Adam River. Transportation between the west and east bank can be done by boat or by utilizing Adam County's extensive subway system.

Education

Adam County University is among the oldest universities in Adam Island. It is well known for its dominance in competitive sports. Its primary rival, Cletus Edwards University, is reknowned for its acheivements in the technical sciences.

Others smaller colleges include Adam County St., Adam County Tech and Adam County A&M.
