Speach

Adress by the President of the Republic, Mr Adree Vorez at the opening of the second session of the fourteenth parliament of the Republic of Zaaherland Victoria City.

“ Mr speaker, Members of Parliament, Citizens of Zaaherland.

The General elections on the 13 November 2004 marked once again that the democracy in our country is strong. Over 80% of the voters turned out. I am happy with the results and I am also happy of the support that My own party got.

At the last year our economy was at it’s highest, and I am happy to say that it continues to go up. My Government has during the last year giving large assistance to our own automobile industry. I should be more profitable to buy a car made in our own country.

We have also passed a law that makes it illegal to make racist comments in public. We believe that it is unmoral and unchristian to have these kind of opinions.

I am also expect that the Parliament will pass the new Education Act that would grant all of the students the same rights.

At the same time when I am here speaking to the parliament, our soldiers and our police is keeping the streets save. There are still uprisings from some organisations that are banned by the republic.

But I am here now, to talk about the new reform program that the Government has started on the 1 of January 2005. I think that our country is ready for this and I know that this has to be done now our never.

For the first,

during the last century our Governments has been banning people and different opposition parties. I am know willing to lift the ban of these people and organisations. The same is for the different organisations and people that have been banned because they have been seen as “unmoral”.

For the Second,

I have taken decision to abolish the Media Act and to stop all censorship of the media. The Act is to be abolished during the next few days. I hope now that all Media will feel free to report the news from our country.

For the Third,

the Women Voting Act is to be abolished. The province Governments can not prevent full time working women from voting in local elections. I have started negotiations with the Province Governments about these laws.

For the fourth,

my Government has taken a firm decision to pass the National Minority Act, granting every minority in the Republic the same rights and duties. I hope that this will lead to a common national unity in the Republic.

Fifth,

I am willing to start negotiations with the leaders of the Free Socialist Organisation, if they stop the violence against the Government and against our people. I am willing to lift the ban on this organisation and release the political prisoners that are members of the organisation. I am giving a time limit of 48 hours to the FSO. At that time the army and police will not take any action against the FSO. If my Government has not received a answer from the FSO after 48 hours I will give orders to continue the actions against this organisation.

I hope to receive peace in this beautiful country before Christmas.

Other communist and atheist organisations will continue to bee banned, I am not willing to let them get a foothold in this country of ours!

I hope that the Parliament will give support to this reform program!

I here by declare the second session of Parliament opened!

God save the Republic! “
