The Agwenian Edicts form the constitution of the Resurgent Dream. They consist of ten edicts issued by High Queen Agwene during her brief reign which essentially democratized Parliament, liberalized the nation's social system, guaranteed individual freedoms and equality of opportunity regardless of sex, creed, color, preference, or national origin, and unified the nation's government and legal system. In effect, they transformed the nation into a liberal democracy over the objections of more conservative elements. While nothing in the edicts themselves legally elevates them above the many royal edicts which were issued previously, they have subsequently been elevated by the common consent of Danaans at all levels to become the highest law in the land, although the Crown maintains ultimate sovereignty, at least in theory.
