Aimala Nalatu Boulea is the 18th Prime Minister of Baranxtu. She comes from a politicians' dynasty, being the daughter of former PM Nala Boulea and Anhani Masurgetu Auli, a former governor of Ωgg-Neila. She, too, entered politics and was Foreign Minister, leader of the RPP and later the LJP. She was the PM candidate for the Liberty and Justice Party in the Baranxtuan legislative elections, 2006 and led her party to a landslide win.

Political Career

Aimala Boulea entered the political life officially in 1988 when she submitted her membership to the Republican People's Party. She ran for a seat in the Hēva-Niqab Baranxtutu the same year, but lost by a margin of only 203 ballots in her district.

In 1992, however, she successfully ran for parliament again and won a district of her home town Misma. Two years later, she was elected leader of the Republican People's Party after the former leader Stice Anedera had resigned to join the Liberty and Justice Party.

Boulea was reelcted in her district in 1996, but resigned her post as party leader one year later as carrying two offices became - in her own words - "too stressful" for her.

In the 2000 national elections, she again won her riding, this time with an astonishing majority of over 80%. She refused an offer to become her party's Speaker in the House of the Moon. Only in 2004 after she even gained a few percent points in the national elections she accepted the renewed offer.

During the American Federalist/Riconiaa Refugee Crisis of 2005 she was appointed the new Foreign Minister of Baranxtu after Secui Atili had been ousted due to comments that were perceived as racist.

In an absolutely surprising move, Boulea announced in April 2006 that she was about to resign from the RPP and would join the LJP. Prime Minister Htalui Asabijitu Mersagi stated that he was personally shocked, but would allow Boulea to continue her function as Foreign Minister.

Her change of party affiliation is widely thought to be the result of the growing tension between the coalition partners RPP and LJP, as the RPP has recently shifted quite noticeably to the right.

On June 8, 2006 she was unanimously elected the new leader of the LJP, following the dismissal of Adánela Heftúea. One day later, Mersagi dismissed her as Minister of Foreign Affairs, albeit on shaky grounds. When the coalition with the RPP subsequently broke and the Baranxtuan legislative elections, 2006 were announced, she was made the PM candidate for her party. The LJP won a majority of seats, and Boulea was elected PM only one day after the elections.

Private Life

Born in her father's home province Ωgg-Neila, she received a good education from a very young age. She knew how to read and write by the age of 4, and was allowed to move up a class upon entering school.

After graduating in 1980, she decided to study politics in the capital. Like her brother Umeri, she disagreed with her parents' politcal affiliation and joined the Party of the Union of all People of the Republic. Subsequently, she too had a fallout with her parents, resulting in her parents disinheriting her along with her siblings in 1991.

In an interview she gave the same year, she stated she was very content nonetheless, having just become engaged to Mairi Satuhanitu Meguri. The couple married a year later.

Boulea has two children, Maïna, born in 1996, and Sirguni, born in 1998.
