Overview

AirKaeneiLiverySmall.jpg]
An example of Air Kaenei Livery.
Air Kaenei is the state-mandated and owned Gravline serving the domestic, trans-world and inter-solar travel needs of the Kaeneian people as a whole. The institution was Created from an amalgamation of various Gravlines which had previously been limited to the largest Provinces that made up the Serene^Union by the Act of Supremacy [Consolidation of Air Traffic], shortly after the year 368 E.A.

Gravports, Facilities & Routes

Air Kaenei's central administrational, logistical and training centre is located at Solarri International Gravport, the largest such facility for aerospace, aircraft, and gravcraft vessels in the entirety of the Union and the only facility sanctioned by the Office for Foreign and Extra-Solar Affairs on behalf of The Aengelistoria Dominica as an official Point of Entry for individuals entering or leaving Kaenei.

Air Kaenei also maintains sizable gravports known as Primary Nodes in each Province, located as closely to the capital cities of said Provinces as is feasable and safe, and creating the primary routes which make up the bulk of gross passenger numbers. From each of these Primary Nodes and serving the lesser populated, and more isolated Provincial communities are Secondary Nodes; smaller facilities with less scope for handling the larger vessels yet flexible enough to ensure that any Kaeneian citizen requiring to cross the territories of the Union can find a route to satisfy.

Tertiary nodes, though subscribing to a similiar categorical name, are not maintained by Air Kaenei and are instead military bases, under the administrational control of the Defence Terra and as such unavailable for civilian use unless an emergency requires an unscheduled landing.

Air Kaenei do as a matter of record, maintain facilities for the collecting of tickets for non-Kaeneians wishing to visit the Serene^Union and readily have routes from Titan, The Ring of Powerfulness, Europa and Mars; pending completion of satisfactory security and visa-related checks which must be successfully passed in order to obtain tickets, the outlets are traditionally merged with the local Kaeneian Supreme-Consulate, rather than stand-alone.

The Air Kaenei Fleet

Two gravliner types currently make up almost the entire Air Kaenei Fleet, both manufactured by the Department Scientia's Aerospace Engineering Directorate (DSAD). The DSAD-400, designed soley for the internal domestic flight needs of the Serene^Union itself, is the more numerous of the two since the near majority of passenger numbers are derived from the internal network as opposed to the external transworld services.

  • Capable of carrying 400 passengers
  • Maximum operational range without refuelling: 7,200 nautical miles
  • Length: 80.05 metres

The DSAD-800 is considerably larger, and is intended to meet the needs of Air Kaenei's transworld duties. Whilst it likewise employs the anti-gravitic technologies of its smaller cousin, it utilises a SABRE engine system which allows for the sub-orbital and makes a journey of some four thousand miles a half-hour in duration.

  • Capable of carrying 800 passengers
  • Maximum operational range without refuelling: 20,500 nautical miles
  • Length: 180.8 metres

In addition, both classes of craft are fitted with a standard Kaeneian Electronic Intelligence to supplement the three flight crew onboard, functioning essentially as a highly-skilled and capable autopilot.
