Akhtendum is a militaristic and theocratic state, noted by many in Africa for its remorseless brutality, both in domestic and international affairs. The Akhtendum empire consists of 7 states, including

  • Old Akhtendum (Vertical strip of land in eastern Egypt, bordering Libya)
  • Akhtendum (West Egypt)
  • The Blue Nile (Northern Sudan)
  • Sinai
  • Egyptstan (Southern Egypt, east of the Nile)
  • Libya (Central Libya only. North Libya is a part of the Azaziel Empire, while southern Libya is a recent addition to Wickedville)
  • South Nubia (Parts of Sudan, much of the southern regions of which have recently petitioned for separatism, under the flag of Wereak)

Of these states, The Blue Nile alone enjoys sovreignty as a nation state in its own right. The Premier of The Blue Nile, Abbas Jamilopour, has often upheld this right in the face of undisguised adversity from Cairo, Akhtendum's administrative Capital.

The government of Akhtendum is comprised of the Council of High Priests, a handpicked selection of religious leaders who are then elected by the various provinces. Over the Council reigns supreme the GODKING of Akhtendum, a position highly sought after and bloodily retained, despite the dangers inherent in the position. Over recent years, Lords Akh, Darei, Zipacna and Molech have all suffered either assassination or coup, each time resulting in the chaotic and murderous struggle for succession.

Akhtendum is regarded as a strict nation, her Theocratic Laws often taking both tourists and businessmen by surprise, yet despite her turbulent politics and overzealous legal system, it is regarded as one of the greatest nations in Africa, both in terms of living conditions and economically. The government is decidedly pro-business, and the nation's economy has roared ahead, enriching both Akhtendese and foreign citizens alike. The disposable income raked in by the government have been used to both enhance the nation's Industries and build up arguably the mightiest Military in Africa, capable of staving off Akhtendum's foes at home and abroad.

Internationally, Akhtendum is very active, serving multiple terms as Eastern Subregional Councillor and achieving the African Union Secretary Generalship three times - the second nation (after Israel-Palestine) to accomplish such a feat. Akhtendum has been involved in several wars, all of which were either won or abandoned due to Akhtendum's often brilliant diplomatic corps.

Akhtendum's domestic security has always been a strict priority. Apart from political machinations that often leave opposition leaders or political figures literally battling in the streets, Akhtendum remains one of Africa's top targets for terrorism. Many terror groups have struck at Akhtendum and her allies, yet Akhtendum has maintained a vigil against guerilla groups, destroying some utterly and chasing others underground.
