Founded in late 2002, Al Amarja is one of the older nations in the game and is one of the oldest nations in North America. Originally founded as Assjackistan, the nation was deleted in late 2003 due to moderator concerns about the name but was allowed to be reformed as Al Amarja due to the long-standing reputation of the nation, as well as a multi-regional protest raised by other players.
Al Amarja currently exists as a slightly unstable socialist state, with a slightly unstable socialist ruler who seems to be amused by the notion of his citizens having some say in their lives. How long this can continue in a nation known for infighting and savage sporting events remains to be seen.
