History
First Era
In late July, 2005, Kievan moved from Russia and established the the great region, Alanium. Kievan used a much more efficient and personal recruitment technique, attracting around 50 members at one point. The first active members included Southean Ireland of the The East Pacific, along with Jard-sur-Mer. Several nations notable in early Alanium arrived as well, including: The Eliki, and Elums. Alanium later experienced a period of inactivity, during which the population dropped sharply. Kievan attempted to fix this problem by adding a regional map and a forum. It took a while for this to catch on. However, Kievan left NationStates for a period of time to tend to academic and social pursuits, while leaving Jard-sur-Mer in charge. During Kievan's absence, the region experienced a slight recession.
Second Era
During Kievan's absence, Southean Ireland forged many new alliances while Jard-sur-Mer attracted several new and extremely active nations, including Dugon, Verbidia, and Beavrcreek. JSM had just been successful in turning out the enemy spy, Jistalia, who had apparently chased Verbidia until he reached Alanium, where Jard-sur-Mer was able to ban him. Regional activity and forum RP recieved a huge boost around the return of Kievan, and Alanium was thriving, reaching 30 members again with forum RP at an all time high. However, as Verbidia and Dugon worked their way to the top of Alanial Government, creating such prestigous alliance and security programs as the Five Star Alliance, Kievan and Jard-sur-Mer began to sense something strange. Through alliance and intelligence, Kievan's worst fears were confirmed, upon discovering the the nations of Jistalia, Dugon, and Verbidia were directed from the same IP address. The three nations were effectively banned. However, loose relations were continued with the apologetic Dugon. After explaining all this to Slaitania, another region fooled by the antics of Dugon, who happened to be that regions founder (as Degasacca), they did not believe our claims. The confusion and direction of their leader caused us to be misidentified as their enemies. For their stubborn loyalty to their leader, they were invaded and destroyed by The Red Wolves, who were commissioned by Dugon. The region quieted down, and Kievan once again retired from active leadership, leaving Jard-sur-Mer in charge once again.
Third Era
Unfortunately, Jard-Sur-Mer was vacationing in France at this time (literally) and rarely had access to his computer, resulting in the repeated death of his nation. Beavrcreek, a new nation who had been very active, took control of Alanium for a nearly eventless term. After a couple of months, a new nation, Highreach, came into the picture. Becoming the new regional delegate and enhancing the current map and forums, Alanial activity once again thrived. Upon the return of Kievan, the region was growing. Several new nations came at this time, but Kievan was once again to die off.
Fourth Era
There are currently reports of the nation attempting to ressurect itself.

Five Star Alliance
The Five Star Alliance is the main Alanium peace force. Originally created by Verbidia, along with Kievan, Jard-Sur-Mer, Dugon, and Southean Ireland, the five stars. Soon after, however, Beavrcreek joined the alliance and Verbidia was ejected. Currently headquartered on Five Star Island in the middle of the Central Sea Strait. Current members include:
