He was known to be vastly imaginative and also very shy. Keeping mostly to himself he seldom socialized with people he didn't know well, or family members he never saw much of. Non the less he was very freindly and usually caring about people and the world around him. He frequantly donated to charities at school and on the street. When Alex was about 5 he saw his first movie an adventure movie called The Kingdom and Alex was mezmerized by it. Although this passion began it wasn't untill late middle school when his intrest in film began to develop. The movie industry in Kanami was beining to boom, and more and more people were getting into movies

College Years

Alex only attended one year of college before getting his big break with the film Yasashii Himura (film). Alex scored an internship with Tanazaki Pictures in 1968. Studio Exec and founder Yukito Tanazaki saw potential talent in Thorton and asked him to try his hand in directing. Alex served as a Ghost Director for the TV Show Full Boat. Tanazaki was impressed that a man with no prior experience or formal traning was able to communicate and work so well with everyone and make it look as well as it did. By this time Tanazaki along with a freined were developing a project to make a story about Yasashii Himura's life
