Alfred Devereux Sweynsson MD

Alfred Sweynsson is the ambassador to the UN for the Protectorate of the St Edmundan Antarctic, and before that "nation" was established in May 2006 he had held the same position for the Kingdom of St Edmund since it joined the UN in August 2005. His diplomatic career began when he was serving as personal physician to the St Edmundan ambassador in [classified] and [classified], and his most recent posting before the UN job was as First Secretary to his country's 'High Alderman' (a title which is used instead of 'Ambassador' for the heads of the diplomatic missions that are sent between the member-nations of the 'Godwinnian Commonwealth') in Godwinnia.
He is a male human, apparently aged somewhere between 50 & 60, of mixed-race ancestry (European, African, Carib & possibly other strains too). He is not only a doctor of medicine but a "spirit-talker" too.
His wife is Lady Elizabeth Hilda Tanaquil Woerthing-Sweynsson, a member of an old family in the Godwinnian gentry, who is a member of Godwinnia's diplomatic corps and has been assigned to observe the UN for her native government.
Before an office was found for the St Edmundan mission Dr Sweynsson could often be found -- when he wasn't actually attending debates in the General Assembly -- in the Strangers' Bar. He is now based in an airship that's more-or-less permanently moored to a spire on the UN Building's roof, and visits the Bar only rarely because his political superior (Edward Haroldsson, St Edmund's 'Firstthane for OutsideStuff') has decreed that he must wear a penguin costume -- as the St Edmundan Antarctic's new "national costume" -- whenever he leaves his office and goes inside the actual buidling...
