Officially Armed Forces of the Aliquancian Empress is Aliquantus’s small military based around a highly trained, professional force. The doctrine revolves around elite soldiers, only light and fast vehicles are used during combat. The decision to use small, fast vehicles proves to be a great asset as armour has become obsolete due to advances in anti-tank missiles. The Aliquantus military is run by the Aliquantus Ministry of Defence. The Aliquantus Military has been named in Aliquancian English and all forces, Adepta Spectrum (Special forces), Adepta Aqua (Navy), Adepta Mere (Marines) and Adepta Aurora (Air Force), Adepta Terra Aurora (Army Air Corps) use the Adepta prefix, Adepta meaning ‘Adaptable Soldier’ or ‘Soldier of’. The soldiers are mostly females, trained from birth as thoroughly and as proficiently as possible, even defying moral and internationally legal barriers. The motto of the Aliquancian military is Merces Letifer or ‘Lethal Trade’ was given by Queen Artifacta after viewing the birth of a soldier from a Venal Cradle.

Adepta Spectrum

The Adepta Spectrum brigades are the land force and possibly the most highly trained forces in the world and is a totally independent force, along with fighting as Aliquantus’s land force it is tasked with special duties, infiltration, sabotage, laying traps, siege breaking, covert recon, assassination, collecting intelligence and covert operations that the average special forces soldier would deny as possible. Their role is not unlike other real world army although they are so proficient that they carry out Special Forces operations that are kept highly classified. The Soldiers are trained from birth, chosen from the most suitable infants.

Females

90% of Aliquancian soldiers are female due to the gender balance in Aliquantus; most donor cells are extracted from females. The ASIST battlefield uniform is light, comfortable and suited to the none massive Aliquancian female Body Mass Index.

Birth, Selection & Training

The soldiers start as a genetically enhanced fetus, the culmination of more than thirty years of research into human cloning and genetic augmentation, created by a cabal of Aliquancian scientists in an attempt to create what would be the perfect soldier. They are grown in an artificial womb made from dead organ donors; these wombs are called Venal Cradle’s or officially The Artificial Fetus Production Organ (TAFPO) and comprise of an artificial womb attached to electronics and liquid controlling machines. During birth the soldier is forcibly expelled from the TAFPO by automated metal arms and drop into a basin, they are then cut from the umbilical cord and moved to the next phase of growing in The Construct Nursery under hourly nutrient and drug intake to further their growth potential. They then undergo a selection phase where only the most appropriate infants may pass. The soldiers are then rigorously trained in groups of four, and often stayed with that group for all their life in training and in battle. This resulted in soldiers forming intense sisterly bonds, which helped to fuse them as a lethal team. This resulted in the soldiers acquiring skills that complimented each others, although all were competent in performing their comrades' duties (i.e. sniping, hacking, demolitions, driving, etc). Each soldier’s training is decided by the person that was their head instructor. Each instructor was personally picked by Coventina, who formed the unit. During their training, the soldiers are subjected to on the spot tests, advancement injections and random interrogation simulations. Written lessons take place daily, workouts, lack of sleep and tests are constant. The soldiers also regularly undergo the hand-to-hand killing of other people to further their ruthlessness and prepare them for certain sights and sounds of war, mainly illegal immigrants and criminals are used as an opposition and because most criminals are males it gives the mostly female soldiers a relevant test.

Common Firearms

Infantry weapons are designated with SE for Soldier Equipment. After a Hyphen-minus they are named accordingly with Marksman/Assault Rifle/Long Range Rifle/Assault Rifle/Squad Automatic Weapon/Heavy Machine Gun/General Purpose Machine Gun/Anti-Material Rifle/Heavy-duty Multifunction Weapon/Anti-Tank Guided Weapon/Fire-and-Forget Anti-Tank Guided Missile and then finishing with the introduction date and after a space, the cartridge information.

Essential Systems and Miscellaneous

  • SE-CK45 Street Knife or Combat Knife, the primary infantry weapon.
  • x4 Rifle Scope, fitted to every infantry weapon.
  • Selected Rifle Camera, optional replacement for the standard x4 scope on every weapon, connects to helmet attached goggles to view around obstacles.
  • Advanced Soldier Integrated Support Technology or ASIST is the Aliquantus military's battle uniform, it consists of copious technologies to assist soldiers in a conflict environment. It is exclusive to the Aliquantus Armed Forces and is the most advanced battle uniform available.
  • Sxinx Coagulation Injection – This injection is a performance enhancing drug witch comprises of artificial adrenalin, can only be used once as it contains a small amount of Strychnine.
  • Watchkeeper - Ground controlled unmanned aerial vehicle for real-time battle space surveillance.
  • LongBowman communications and intelligence liaison.
  • OWK Satellite (OBI-WAM-KANODYS - Orbiting Battlefield Informant-Wireless Area Mapping-Knowledge Assisting Night Or Day Yern System is a satellite GPS wireless information and communication assisting device - Links with LongBowman)
  • Man-portable Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar (MSTAR)
  • COBRA, MAMBA, ASP - the COunter Battery RAdar (Cobra), Mobile Artillery Monitoring Battlefield Asset (Mamba) and Advanced Sound ranging Program (ASP) are the main pieces of equipment used in battlefield surveillance.
  • The Battlefield Meteorological System BMETS - Artillery detection system.
  • Mortar Locating Radar - Detects active enemy mortar base plates to be identified and engaged with artillery.
  • Air Defence Alerting Device (ADAD) - A close air defence surveillance system, that detects hostile aircraft and helicopter targets and directs weapon systems into the target area.

Adepta Aurora

Adepta Aurora is a branch of the Aliquancian Military. The Adepta Aurora is a small yet powerful and proficient air force. The Adepta Aurora has accepted the RAF motto of "Per Ardua ad Astra", which J.S.Yule translated as "Through Struggles to the Stars" in 1912. The RAF and Adepta Aurora translate it as "Through Adversity to the Stars". The Adepta Aurora headquarters is based at Aliquantus Air Force Station Orca on the east side of Aliquantus.

The Adepta Aurora has attached Rapier anti-aircraft systems and a regiment to defend airfields and provide security. The Adepta Aurora also supports itself logistically.

Squadrons

The term squadron (sqn) can be used to refer to an administrative sub-unit of a station, e.g. Air Traffic Control sqn, Personnel Management sqn; there are also ground support squadrons, e.g. 2 (MT) Sqn. The primary use for the term is as the name of the flying squadrons which carry out the primary tasks of the Adepta Aurora. Adepta Aurora squadrons are somewhat analogous to the regiments of the Adepta Spectrum, in that they have histories and traditions going back to their formation, regardless of where they are currently based, which aircraft they are operating, etc. They can be awarded standards and battle honours for meritorious service. Whilst every squadron is different, most flying squadrons are commanded by a Wing Commander and, for a fast-jet squadron, have an establishment of around 100 personnel and 12 aircraft, but 16 aircraft for Shard F7 Squadrons.

Adepta Aqua

At the foundation of Aliquantus there were only small frigates in the Royal Aliquantus Navy, not enough to defend the seas that Aliquantus was responsible for. Today its role for the 21st century has returned to focus on global expeditionary or blue water operations with a large and proficient navy to do so. The Adepta Aqua includes destroyers, assault vessels, submarines, mine counter-measures and patrol vessels. There are then further vessels of the Adepta Aqua Fleet Auxiliary.

Adepta Mere

The Adepta Mere are the Adepta Aqua’s light infantry. They are also the amphibious force and specialists in Arctic and Mountain Warfare. A core component of the country's Rapid Deployment Force, the Corps is able to operate independently in all types of terrain and is highly-trained as a commando force. It is a force designed to be able to quickly deploy and fight in any terrain in the world.

Forces Formation and Structure

  • Corps made up of two or more Divisions.
  • Division made up of two or three Brigades with an HQ element and support troops. Commanded by a General.
  • Brigade made up of four Battalions, an HQ element, dedicated helicopter support and associated logistics and support troops. Commanded by a Brigadier.
  • Battalion of about 700 soldiers, made up of five companies commanded by a Colonel.
  • Company of about 100 soldiers, typically in three platoons, commanded by a Major.
  • Platoon of about 30 soldiers, commanded by an Ensign, Cornet or Leftenant (Lieutenant).
  • Section of about 8 to 10 soldiers, commanded by a Corporal.
  • Fire Team of four or five soldiers.

Four Soldier Fire Teams

Aliquantus Infantry in four soldier fire teams consist of one SE-AR06 assault rifle, one SE-AR06 fitted with an SE-UGL06 underslug grenade launcher. SE-SAW03 or SE-GPMG70 light machine gun and one SE-MR06 Marksmen Rifle.

The Aliquancian Ranks derive from the British system although not entirely the same. Each officer rank may have an Adjutant or technician form.

Liquidation and Science Establishment

The LSE, affectionately known as ‘Mother’ controls the science involved in the birth, drug, genetic, health and other areas when creating Adepta Spectrum soldiers, the LSE also controls the killing of soldiers who do not pass the daily inspections. The LSE staff are employed from the civilian population

Military Police

The MP are none Adepta Spectrum soldiers separately trained to control and restrict the Adepta Spectrum soldiers from civilians and none military influences. The military police are employed from the civilian population and are not subjected to the training and harsh ‘living’ that Adepta Spectrum soldiers endure.
