The military is based around highly trained, professional light infantry. The doctrine revolves around the historic military report. In it, the decision based on the “better soldiers are more capable than better vehicles” text is that only light vehicles are needed during combat. The decision may prove to be a great asset as armour has become obsolete due to advances in anti-tank missiles. The Aliquantus Armed Forces is run by the Aliquantus Ministry of Defence. Aliquantus possesses a comprehensive nuclear arsenal, utilising the submarine-based Trident II ballistic missile system with nuclear warheads.

</div>Because of the population imbalance females account for 68% of the Aliquantus armed forces, they receive different style training their male counterparts, the training mainly differs in areas such as less body building and allows more time for pre-drill procedures for makeup and pampering. The military is restricted by law to not influence women into becoming ugly in appearance.

Equipment like the ASIST battlefield uniform is light and comfortable and the female version allows room for the breasts.

Aliquantus Army

The Aliquantus Army is the land armed forces branch of the Aliquantus Armed Forces. It came into being on the day of Aliquantus gained independence. As of 2006, the Aliquantus Army includes roughly 112,730 active members and 38,460 Territorial Army members. In contrast to the Royal Aliquantus Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Aliquantus Air Force, the Aliquantus Army does not include "Royal" in its title, because of its colonial roots in the British Army; many of the regiments do bear the "Royal" prefix. The Aliquantus Army soldiers are trained as thoroughly and as proficiently as possible, even defying moral barriers. They also train as light infantry, since armour has become obsolete due to recent advances in anti-tank weaponry. The current leader of the Army is Magna General Lady Artifacta.

Royal Aliquantus Air Force

Royal Aliquantus Air Force (RAAF) is a branch of the Aliquantus Armed Forces. The Royal Aliquantus Air Force is a powerful and proficient air force. The RAF was formed on the second of October 1947; almost two years after Aliquantus became an independent state and has taken a significant role in Aliquantus defence policy. The RAAF has 1007 aircraft and in 2006, 49,100 personnel. The RAAF has accepted the RAF motto of "Per Ardua ad Astra", which J.S.Yule translated as "Through Struggles to the Stars" in 1912. The RAF and RAAF translate it as "Through Adversity to the Stars". The RAAF is part of the Aliquantus Ministry of Defence; the RAAF headquarters is based at Royal Aliquantus Air Force Station or RAAFS Orca near the town of Govan and its current Chief of the Air Staff is Lady Polyxena.

The RAAF has attached Rapier anti-aircraft systems and a regiment to defend airfields and provide security. The RAAF also supports itself logistically.

Squadrons

The term squadron (sqn) can be used to refer to an administrative sub-unit of a station, e.g. Air Traffic Control sqn, Personnel Management sqn; there are also ground support squadrons, e.g. 2 (MT) Sqn. The primary use for the term is as the name of the flying squadrons which carry out the primary tasks of the RAAF. RAAF squadrons are somewhat analogous to the regiments of the Aliquantus Army, in that they have histories and traditions going back to their formation, regardless of where they are currently based, which aircraft they are operating, etc. They can be awarded standards and battle honours for meritorious service. Whilst every squadron is different, most flying squadrons are commanded by a Wing Commander and, for a fast-jet squadron, have an establishment of around 100 personnel and 12 aircraft, but 16 aircraft for Shard F7 Squadrons.

Royal Aliquantus Navy

At the foundation of Aliquantus there were only small frigates in the Royal Aliquantus Navy, not enough to defend the seas that Aliquantus was responsible for. Today its role for the 21st century has returned to focus on global expeditionary or blue water operations with a large and proficient navy to do so. There are currently 88 commissioned ships in the Royal Aliquantus Navy, including aircraft carriers, submarines, mine counter-measures and patrol vessels. There are then further vessels of the Royal Aliquantus Fleet Auxiliary. The Royal Aliquantus Navy is a constituent component of the Aliquantus Naval Service, which also comprises the Royal Marines, Royal Aliquantus Fleet Auxiliary and associated reserve forces under command. The Aliquantus Navy had 38,000 regular personnel as of November 2006. The Royal Aliquantus Navy also retains the Trident II nuclear deterrent. The current head of the Admiralty is Admiral Lady Deidamea.

Royal Marines

The Royal Marines are Aliquantus’s amphibious infantry; they are highly trained as a commando force and are specialists in Arctic and Mountain Warfare. They are also the Royal Aliquantus Navy’s light infantry. Their extra tough training and multiple range of skills are usually only attributed to special forces in other nations.

Special Forces

The Aliquantus Special Forces Brigade (ASFB) is a brigade-equivalent formation encompassing the Special Forces units of the Aliquantus Armed Forces. ASFB is commanded by Director Special Forces (DSF), Lady Nickola; she is the ASFB commander and is a Brigadier.

Ghost Recce Regiment

The Ghost Recce (Not to be confused with Ghost Recon) Regiment is the most highly trained force in the Aliquantus Armed Forces, they are tasked with collecting intelligence and covert operations that the average special forces soldier would deny as possible. Their role is not unlike other real world special operations forces, in that their operations are kept highly classified. GRR Soldiers are trained from birth, chosen from the most suitable infants.

Special Infantry Regiment

The SIR regiment is the most secretive in the Aliquantus Army due to the nature of its employment. It is based around the famous SAS Regiment.

Special Aquatic Regiment

The SAR is the naval version of the SIR.

Special Reconnaissance Regiment

The SRR is a Special Forces regiment of the British Army which recruits men and women from all three services. The regiment is trained to conduct special reconnaissance, relating to covert surveillance, missions worldwide, predominantly in a counter-terrorist posture in support of both special and conventional force tasking.

Special Reinforcement Support Group

This group consists of soldiers of the Navy, Army and Air force that have passed Special Forces Selection but have remained in their respective forces. The Special Reinforcement Support Group reinforces Special Forces Regiments who are in need of extra soldiers

Formation and Structure

  • Corps made up of two or more Divisions.
  • Division made up of two or three Brigades with an HQ element and support troops. Commanded by a General.
  • Brigade made up of three Battalions an HQ element and associated support troops. Commanded by a Brigadier.
  • Battalion of about 700 soldiers, made up of five companies commanded by a Lieutenant-Colonel.
  • Company of about 100 soldiers, typically in three platoons, commanded by a Major.
  • Platoon of about 30 soldiers, commanded by a Second Lieutenant or Lieutenant.
  • Section of about 8 to 10 soldiers, commanded by a Corporal.
  • Fire Team of four or five soldiers.

Four Man Fire Teams

Aliquantus Infantry in four man fire teams consist of one SE-AR06 assault rifle, one SE-AR06 fitted with an SE-UGL06 underslug grenade launcher. SE-SAW03 or SE-GPMG70 light machine gun and one SE-MR06 Marksmen Rifle.

Selection and Training

Due to the harsh and illegal nature of the training this information is limited. The selection and training technique is to break soldiers down before a draconian exercise; if they fail at any stage they will be denied entry. Officers train separately at Royal Military Academy Oxiter otherwise known as RMA Oxiter.

Military Oath

All soldiers must take an oath of allegiance upon joining the Army; it was adopted from the time of British colonial rule. Due to the fact god is not a proven entity Aliquantus is atheist by law and the words in the script have changed as follows: "I solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to The Royal Nymph Anaya and The Royal Nymph Saskia, their heirs and successors and that I will as in duty bound honestly and faithfully defend The Royal Nymph Anaya and The Royal Nymph Saskia, their heirs and successors in person, crown and dignity against all enemies and will observe and obey all orders of The Royal Nymph Anaya and The Royal Nymph Saskia, their heirs and successors and of the generals and officers set over me."
