The Alistossii Government

The Alissii people colonized what would become Alissii Prime 30 years after the destruction of the original Alissii homeworld. However, the three transport vessels crashed on Alissii Prime due to imperfections in the spatial warp-tunneling systems, leaving the Alissii people to begin anew. Devoting itself to peace, the new Alissii people took centuries to extend their arms into space.

Using the lessons learned from the former Alissii Empire, it was decided that a planet-state government would be chosen, once multiple planets fall under the Alissii banner. As the Alissii people spread out on Alissii Prime, the Alissii nation formed, and the basics behind the current Magistrate's government were created. The nation had states, which elected representatives for the state-wide Council of Governors. This Council, in turn, selects a representatives for the national Upper Legislation, which acts as the final filter for any political agenda before it reaches the Upper Council. The Upper Legislation consists of two Houses: the Darmi House, which is more conservative, and the liberal Khaviik House. These two Houses vote on any legislation, and then send their decisions to the Upper Council.

This Upper Council is comprised of the highest ranking military and political figures, all of which are elected by the two Houses. The military leaders are known as the Upper Generals, respectively.

Government terms often last five years, although a maximum of eight is permitted.

After the expansion of the Alistossii people into the nearby worlds, which were colonized after extensive terraforming, the Alissii Legislation now considers these "planet-states", and what would be considered nations are now known as "counties", adding one more layer of government under the state-wide government. The seat of government is still Alissii Prime as of this current year, YAL 321.

The old Alissii Empire

The Alissii people stem from the refugees, criminals, and oppressed people that fled the Alissii Empire in -331 ALY(After Landfall Years) ago, when a resistance group attacked the Alissii Homeworld herself, ultimately nuking the Empirical Seat into a burning mass of glass. The refugees did not learn about this until 30 years later, upon awaking from their cold sleep to find their ships damaged , and their feet upon a new world.

The Alissii Empire was formerly a Republic...however, in -450 ALY, the Republic was usurped by the military and reformed into a Military Empire. Civilian technological advances dropped to a standstill, while military technology rocketed ahead. Even now, in 321 ALY, the Magistration is still behind technologically wise than the Empire's military at the time. The Empire's military had hyperspatial slipdrives, capable of exponentially-higher speeds than the fastest spatial warp-tunneling systems, inter-phasic beam weapons, and subspace shielding. The military of the Empire was a force to be reckoned with.

Many Magistration historians believe that the Empire is not truly dead; instead, they believe that the destruction of the former Homeworld just forced them to re-locate their forces. More information points to the possibility that the Emperor was killed as well, meaning that these forces may be holding on to vital bases, spreading themselves out to defend the Empire's vital secrets.

A day does not go by when anyone in the Magistration fears the return of the Empire, who would stop at nothing to destroy the "inferiors" who left so long ago...
