Allech-Atreus XVI, Walanda XXVI (right, in Imperial uniform), is the current Emperor of Allech-Atreus. The son of Allech-Atreus XV, Itanda XXI, and Empress Tilana Keltan, the Emperor was born in the Golden Palace in Ichimna City, on Vanda Khal during his father's reign. He ascended the Ruby Throne of the Celestial Dragon of Allech-Atreus at age 38.

His personal name, which is only used by his very close friends and family members, is "Immarat." Were he to have a last name (which is not customary for royals), it would likely be Allech-Atreus.

Early Life

Raised in and out of the Imperial court for various periods, he was educated by his great-granduncle, Duke Suriyth Tharn Allech-Atreus, on the planet Gish. At the age of 15 he was given a new identity and sent to the Imperial University on Bibliotecos to continue his studies. His new identity was tempered with an Imperial Order stripping him of his rights and privileges as an Imperial family member, a move calculated by the Duke to give him a sense of equality and humility.

Fleet Commission

On his 23rd birthday, after graduating from the University, he enlisted in the Imperial Fleet, being assigned to the Foundry Ship Rugh In Juy as a thar (midshipman). He spent 5 years working on the Rugh In Juy, progressing through the ranks before he was promoted to Captain (Regh). His ship was the Yutaman, a lower-class attack frigate. He gained distinction on the Yutaman when he captured a band of pirates raiding arund Casca and seized their commander.

After three more years on the Yutaman, he was promoted to Admiral and given command of the Ruhzam, an older Bargyzash-class ship. Two years later, he was involved in the Rengazii uprising under the command of Lord Admiral Duamuh, and as a result was given the rank of Lord Admiral.

Nobility

After ten years in the Fleet, he was called back by his father. Returning to Imperia Prime as royalty for the first since age 15, he was recieved in state by his father and the entire royal court, dressed in his Fleet uniform, and was revealed to the Empire as the son of the Emperor and Crown Prince.

Ascension to the Throne

The Emperor's life until that point had closely resembled that of Emperor Allech-Atreus VII, who was raised in a similar manner. Holding true to history, the Emperor appointed his son Grand Duke of Imperia Prime ( a title not held since Allech-Atreus XVII, and before him Askar Sivarik). The Crown Prince reigned as Grand Duke for 5 years, until his fahter died suddenly. He was accepted into the Imperial Palace and oversaw the funeral ceremonies, inaugurated the funereal festival, and according to Imperial principal, was crowned Emperor in the ancient Temple of the Sapphire after a week of mourning. He inaugurated a week of holiday across the Empire following his coronation, and immediatly declared a "Year of No Tax."

In his first year of rule, Emperor Allech-Atreux XVI married Kitana Lakarik, a noble descendant of the Lakarik Emperors, refurbished mouldering military hardware, removed economic barriers and regulations, replaced corrupt Imperial governors, resat the Chamber of Regents, rejuvenated the sagging Agundan, and appointed new Grand Admirals.

Withing the next seven years, he had changed the political landscape of the Empire. His father had faced significant enmity from the Chamber of Regents in the form of the Ortun Bloc, which Allech-Atreus XVI eviscerated by reshaping the Regent's electoral settings, cutting the Ortun Regents out whenever possible. He built strong connections with the Nation-States UN, albeit secretly, and successfully gained the Delegateship of the Union of Independent Nations for Allech-Atreus.

In his 12th year, he proclaimed that amnesty would be offered for all pirates and criminals that turned themselves in, as well as pouring personal funds into the Grand Danbian Library and the University of Bibliotecos. He gave official state protection to the Taam In Phar, effectively creating a national religion, and fathered a son, Prince Hashal Kumra XV. His reign has been peaceful since then, with minor developments. His reign is generally considered to be a "Golden Age" of the Empire.

Modern Day

During the current year of his reign, the Emperor has brought Allech-Atreus into the NSO, UN DEFCON, and has strengthened the Empire further by cementing ties with Tangallamarnay. He has also sent delegations to the Beldani Combine and the Zurrian Empire, and has strengthened the border zones with Dakash.

His government has had some mixed success with political change. The Emperor has met with wild success on the international scene, becoming hugely involved in diplomatic relations with other countries, but this success has largely been tempered by recidivism at home. On the Emperor's decree the Chamber of Regents was abolished and it's members arrested, though it is unclear how much of this can be attributed to the Emperor himself and not his advisors. Further, the recent failure of the Rengazaan Central Bank has caused many people to doubt the ability of the Grand Directorate to maintain the prosperity of the Empire.

Position in Society

According to religion, the Emperor is the divine manifestation of godly power. He is worshipped by many citizens as a god in his own right, but it is important to remember that Emperors are not divine from birth. According to established theocratic thought, the divine power descends upon the Emperor after his coronation. His predecessor, either through death or voluntary refusal, gives up the power to the next vessel.

The Emperor is highly respected throughout the Empire- even non-followers of Taam In Phar regard him well. There is a sort of personality cult surrounding him- he does not appear in public much anymore, and many of the religious ceremonies he takes part in are not open to the public. His children, however, are much more visible.

It is unclear exactly how much of the government the Emperor actually controls firsthand, and how much of it is run by proxy. The general consensus is that the advisors and officers of the Emperor make most of the decisions, deferring to the Imperial will.
