The Allied Union of Nations (AUN) is a region founded by Tulavar and The Snowflake based on the principles of freedom, equality, and democracy for all resident nations. We welcome all nations who strive for and live up to these three principles with open arms.

History of the AUN

The AUN was created on April 7th, 2005, in wake of a almost dicatorial return of Paceal, Founder of the region of Dun Eideann. Most of the nations currently residing in the AUN(including most officials), were residents of Dun Eideann, distraught at Paceals behaviour, by ejecting The Snowflake who was Secretary of State at the time, and Steenia who was Delegate of Dun Eideann at that time.

On the week of April 7th, The Snowflake and Tulavar, then Diplomat(Director of Foreign Affairs in Dun Eideann), decided to try to talk to Paceal. Tulavar was calling for either resistance of Paceal after he attempted to distrupt government activities, or leave Dun Eideann for a new region, or form another one. After several days of attempts to talk and negotiate with Paceal, The Snowflake and Tulavar met up again, as one of the last times as officials in Dun Eideann. Both officials agreed it was time to separate, and try to bring as many nations out of Paceals hands. Thus, after some discussion, the Allied Union of Nations was formed, with Tulavar as Founder, and The Snowflake to be Chairman of the Provisional Council, the 2nd in command to the Founder at that time.

Very quickly, Dun Eideann, a region almost reaching 200 nations, was sliding down to 150 within a week, with most government officials leaving. Within the week, the Provisional Council of the AUN was formed. Several key pieces of legislation was passed, including the Bill of Rights and Common Law, plus alliances with regions formerly allied to Dun Eideann. At this time, the AUN had 50 nations or so.

However, the most disapointing case in the AUN was when Steenia, former UN Delegate from Dun Eideann, decided not to join the AUN, and form our sister region, Futaba Aoi. Though Steenia is not with us directly, we enjoy great relations with Futaba Aoi.

On August 9th, 2005, claiming waining interist in the region and increased participation elsewhere, Tulavar resigned his positions in the Allied Union of Nations, followed by Snowflake on the 13th of August. After a wave of nations leaving, fearing collapse, and being actively recruited to Snowflake's new region, Dun Eideann II, the leadership of the region fell to the remaining Council members, UN Delegate Sinsvika and Interior Minister Casari. Since then, the region has been working to rebuild and grow in face of it's adversary and now boasts a population of over 180 nations as of March 15th, 2006.

International Relations

Since the creation of the AUN, the Foreign Ministry has been keeping a steady amount of negotiations, alliances, and international interests open. Alliances that have been discussed so far are with:

Other things

Finally, there are the other, more random and entertaining elements in the AUN. This includes the very popular Union Pub("Serving the best drinks and food this side of the Pacific", as the pub claims), the AUN City and Cultural Center, and the Word Games department. Plus, there is the General Discussion area, and "The Union Times", the official news source of the AUN.
