Alvés-Navlan is a province in southern Antrium. Its capital is Marnezjalis. It was annexed by Antrium on December 3, 2005 after a 68% vote for annexation by the Alvésis and Navlanis.
History
The history of Alvés-Navlan is still somewhat unclear, as there is no written history of the province. The only information anyone knows about its history comes from stories passed from generation to generation. Researchers are sure that the area has been inhabited by two rival tribes, the Alvésis and the Navlanis, for hundreds of years. There have been many wars between the two tribes, and at one time the Alvésis conquered the Navlanis, resulting in Alvésin becoming the province's only language.
The area was owned by the nation of American Federalist from 1776 until 2005, when the American Federalist/Riconiaa Refugee Crisis started. The American Federalist government failed and chaos followed. The area was forgotten in this panic, and was not included in the original state of Antrium when it was founded in August 2005.
On September 11, 2005, explorers from the Antrium Red Cross came across the town of Marnezjalis while looking for survivors of the refugee crisis. By the time they arrived, hundreds of Marnezjalisians had died from disease, and there were only 600 people left. The buildings were in terrible shape, suffering from disrepair. With help from the Antrium Red Cross and the Order of the Grey Nuns of Listeneisse, the area was rebuilt and medical help was supplied, and the area was able to recover within a few months.
In December 2005, the citizens of Alvés-Navlan voted for being annexed by Antrium, 68% to 32%. They were officially annexed on December 3.
Geography
Alvés-Navlan is one of the lowest places in Antrium. The eastern side of the province is low and marshy, and the west side is covered in hills and forests. Alvés-Navlan is the only province in the country without mountains. The beaches of Lake Kernow are one of the most popular vacation places in the country.
Alvés-Navlan is bordered by the province of Soréto on the west, Lake Kernow on the east and north, and Fonzoland on the south.
Counties
Alvés-Navlan is split into seven counties: 3 in Navlan (Nàvlàn-Véo, Kilīàn, and Du Lac) and 4 in Alvés. (Lebot, Fàlk, Màrnezjalīs, and Grévo) The largest number of representatives goes to Màrnezjalīs County, with 14.
Cities
The largest city in Alvés-Navlan is Marnezjalis, with a population of approximately 135,000. Sento Kilīàn and Fort du Lac are second and third, respectively. All other towns in the province have populations of 10,000 or lower. There are not many towns in Alvés-Navlan right now, but the number is growing as Antrians are rapidly moving to the province.
Transportation
The main highway in Alvés-Navlan is Antrian National Highway 6 (AN6, shown in red on the map at right), which starts in Soréto and ends in Marnezjalis. There are several provincial (shown in teal) and local highways (shown in light grey) which connect the towns. There is one airport in the province, the Marnezjalis Regional Airport in Marnezjalis.
Education
There is one university in Alvés-Navlan, which is the University of Alvés-Navlan at Marnezjalis. Another location of the same university is under construction in Sento Kilīàn.
