Biography

Overview

Alysa Anderson (formerly: Alysa Beattie) is a moderately powerful psychic and has a direct neural-link to the Hack's Neural Network. She works as the head programmer for the Hack's R&D department.

History

Alysa started as just another programmer for the Hack when she worked on a joint-strike fighter project that involved the Hack, GMC Military Arms, Tsaraine, and Vthnaar. She was brought along by Dr. Josef Specter to help with the computer systems. It was on this project, in Tsaraine, that she first met Emily Anderson.

Her success on the fighter project was lead to her being involved in the creation of the operating system for GMC's SHIVA project. It was also during this time that she and Emily Anderson started dating. Not long after the completion of Shiva, she and Emily were married, and she was promoted to Head Programmer.

Since her marriage and promotion, she has spent most of her time in GMC, coordinating with various GMC counterparts, telecommuting, and occationally returning to Chiba City. The Head Programer position is more of an administrative one, so her actual programming is mostly on her free time for side projects (see below). However, she was instrumental in the creation of the PHALANX systems.

Alysa was also involved in creating the code for Elijah, and was directly involved in figuring out what happened when he managed to obtain full sentience.

Psychic Ability

Alysa has moderate psychic abilities, allowing her to levitate medium sized objects, raise and lower the temperature of small objects, as well as mild telepathic abilities. While not powerful on the world scene, she is exceptionally potent by Hack standards, as the Hack's ratio is 1:500,000,000 (although this number is changing with emigration from GMC, where psychics are much more common).

However, even with her rather unimpressive psychic ability, it is more than sufficient to allow her to access the Hack's neural network. Her avatar while jacked in, looks much as she does in the real world, typically wearing jeans and a teeshirt.

Side Work

Alysa has helped Mikhael Aronofsky in several unofficial (read: illegal) projects, most comissioned by Emporer Devon Treznor from the Empire of Treznor. Mikhael receives the jobs and farms coding intensive aspects to Alysa. She was involved in the creation of an anti-AI virus, and the tracking of Lord Alkanphel. These side projects have resulted in millions of free income for Alysa.

Current Status

Alysa currently lives in GMC with her wife and two daughters, Lily and Becky; and with Emily's sister Molly, and her wife Lynne. They have several birds, and two cats, Fuzzylogik and Frankenstein.
