Amberton was a large Sargusian marine settlement, roughly 50 miles north of the coast of the Gnome Islands. Prior to the Gnome Islands Conflict it was home to over 100,000 and a medium-sized naval base. Not considered to have any notable cultural significance, it was however home to the Amerton Engineering College, which had produced many of Sargus' most famed engineers and designers. In 2045 a large force of missile submarines were launched from Amberton during the Gnome Islands Conflict as Sargus made a devastating surprise attack against Coalition forces that had massed on the border of Philips Head. Despite the initial strike being a complete success, tragically some of the subs returning to Amberton were tagged by a pack of Coalition Anya-III attack submarines. The Zedoljan subs were able to follow the Sargusians back to Amberton. The Zedoljans assumed that Amberton was a large military target, where in fact only a part of the settlement belonged to the military. This was the first time that Sargus had made contact with a MuDeAl power, and while the Zedoljans had no concept that they were attacking a city, the Sargusian defences had never before encountered such sophistication and firepower of an Anya-III, at the time one of the most deadly submarines in the world. The Anya's were given "weapons free" status, and proceeded to assault the city's main dome. They succeeded in breaching the dome, which caused much of the city to implode, killing most of its population.

Plans to rebuild Amberton, even 15 years after its destruction, have yet to have been approved. The Soviet Union, which Zedoljev is now part of, still has not formally apologised for the loss of life.
