Anastasio Antonio Figaro Agostino Coscarelli, BA, born 16th May, 1956 in Prato Vinta, Antigonia, Pacitalia, is an award-winning and highly regarded PBC journalist who is perhaps best known for his work during the bloody Great Central African War in Zaire. His hard-hitting documentary, Holocaust by Hunger: The Zaire War and its Effect on the Rural Poor, was well-received around the world for its exposure of the abhorrent practices of both government and rebel forces during the war in Zaire, and the suffering of the people there. It placed Coscarelli in the position of sudden celebrity as numerous foreign governments jumped to the aid of Zairians in response to the documentary. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996, but lost out to another Pacitalian, Diego Zuna, who was also nominated for his work in Zaire during the war.
