Andrei Sergeyvich Pakhomov(Born July 12th, 1959) is the 3rd and current President of Coocoostan. He is the first from the Simonov-Pakhomov Blok and the first to be born within the borders of the country.

Childhood

Pakhomov was born in Yost(now part of Ondakastan), on July 12th, 1959. His father worked in the management of several factories in the area and was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, heavily involved in local affairs. The young Pakhomov was born into the era of the post-Stalinist thaw however and took to reading the works of people such as Lenin, Trotsky and even Samizdat editions of the work of Bukharin, a politburo member executed during the Stalinist purges. As Pakhomov grew older, he excelled in school, while clashing with communist ideology and taking exception to the policies of Brezhnev, who proved closer to Stalin than his predecessor. This was made apparent when the young Pakhomov applied to Moscow State University. In the essay he was expected to write, he openly criticized the policies of Brezhnev, as well as other politburo members for their deviation from Leninism. The authorities did not take kindly and only through the work of Pakhomov's fater, he avoided a sentence in Labour Prison and was instead sentenced to ten years of service in the Soviet Army.

Adult Life

Pakhomov applied himself intently to the army, although he was a victim of Dedovschina on numerous occasions. However, as his tormentors finished their 24 months service, he was left alone. In 1983, with Pakhomov recently having returned from Sergeant's school, his unit was deployed to Afghanistan. In early 1984, his squad was sent to rescure a convoy under attack near Gardez, south of Kabul. After about five minutes, his own unit came under fire, with the majority being killed. Junior Sergeant Pakhomov took control of the remaining members and while leaving them in safety, scoured enemy killed for anti-tank weapons, using the RPG-7 and rockets he scavenged to destroy two T-55s. After doing this and clearing the settlement the attack had come from, he moved with his unit up a nearby hill and cleared a camp of largely deserters from the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan's army, despite being hit multiple times. For his actions, Pakhomov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner and the remainder of his sentence was commuted.

After his army Service, Pakhomov was allowed to enter university, at Coocoobad State University(now University of Coocoobad), where he majored in Political Science, completing both a Bachelor's and Master's degree. In 1990, he briefly took a job as an aide to the main MVD official in Ulgava(then Kirovabad) before the collapse of the Soviet Union. After the collapse, he continued within the Interior Secretariat as an urban planner, for Ulgava. It was under Pakhomov's direction that the 150 series of freeways around the Ulgava area were constructed. His urban planning served as a model for nearby Starlight City. Also, Pakhomov was a reserve officer in the People's Liberation Army of Coocoostan until 1998, when he retired with the rank of Major. It was during this time that Pakhomov, formed the Social Revolutionary Party, along with many other centrists within Ulgava. Pakhomov was considered a rightist among the group and the SRP achieved some limited victories at the municipal and republic level, with Pakhomov being elected to the State Duma of Ondakastan and in 2001, party leader. The party continued in this manner until 2003, along with friend Yuri Simonov of the Slavic Front party, he created the Simonov-Pakhomov Blok. The Blok gathered much support within the Northwest of the country initially, but it proved difficult to break through. Finally, in the February 2007 elections, Pakhomov was victorious and won the presidency, which he assumed on February 13th.

Presidency

Pakhomov's presidency so far has been marked by his decisive nature, deploying the 81st Airborne Division to the Coocoo Autonomous Oblast to supress the attempted uprising by the Coocoo Liberation Front. As well, he authorized a CM deployment to Bai Lung and Coocoostani control over the Bai Lung Dalu area. Pakhomov was also president during Coocoostan's first Olympics.
