Coming Out of Isolation: The 1st Term

The first President of Nedalia, led the country out of isolationism and into the international foray. His politics were known to be very liberal, putting Civil Rights before everything else. However, the economy did start out strong under his leadership. Despite that, he was wildly popular with all sects of Nedalia, including the religious Shi'ite Muslim sect. He was a Protestant himself, but still had full support of Catholic and Shi'te leaders, as well as other smaller sects in Nedalia. He founded the Nedalia Liberal Party shortly after winning the first Presidential elections.

After The Holy Saints attempted to move in on the Southern Islands, he gave the go ahead to send troops to Temple and East Islands, starting the Battle of the Southern Islands, a move many viewed as un-Bren like, considering his passive nature. This would start a trend for Bren's 1st presidential term, which lasted 5 years, as he would involve Nedalia in a full-scale invasion of Latao along with Lamoni and Khazaron. The invasion would actually bring President Bren widespread respect from the Nedalian people, who viewed him as a strong leader who was not afraid to make the big desicions. After the invasion was completed, President Bren stood firm in eastern former Latao, and for the second time under his watch, Nedalia expanded its official borders to include the Western Territories.

Focus on Nedalia: The 2nd Term

He won the presidential elections in a massive landslide, and began serving is 2nd term with the promise that he was going ot improve Nedalia as a whole. His national policies were ones that worked to keep civil rights and freedom of speech for his citizens among the best in the region, but his primary focus became the Nedalian economy. It became one of the strongest in the region under his watch, with the Per Capita Income becoming almost $35,000.

However, perhaps his most important move during his 2nd term had nothing to with domestic issues. After the invasion of Latao, Nedalia became one of the founding members of the Strategic Defense League, and such was the respect of the man by his peers that when Bren suggested that the SDL Headquarters be situated in Kafra, no argument was presented.

Internally, despite improvements to the economy, the NPL was increasingly being viewed as an elitist, aristocratic party with benefited itself before the nation. While that propaganda was widely helped by the rival parties who were looking to get an edge in the 3rd Presidential Elections, it did have truth at its core.

End of an Era: The 3rd Term

Despite ongoing critism of the NPL, the President's popularity suffered minimal damage. Bren was re-voted into the office for a 3rd straight term, defeating Nedalia Reform Party candidate Yasmine Dala'a in Nedalia's 3rd ever Presidential elections, with the promist that he would lower taxes by nearly half, although slight complaints were heard about the freedom of the other parties during and after the elections.

Tensions began escalating in the region as a whole after Lady Viannor became known as Viannor Starblayde, following the reported death of Tiberius Starblayde, and almost immediately the tone from Starblaydia changed from one of arrogance to one of violence. Andrew Bren was perhaps the most vocal international voice against the regime in Starblaydia, but his health was slowly getting the best of him.

Sadly, shortly after winning his 3rd term, he fell fatally ill and passed away to disease and old-age, bringing an end to the life of one of the greatest men to ever live in Nedalia.
