Anjuna is the youngest and most dynamic and high-tech city in Love and esterel and the second most populated after Esterel City. There is a huge friendly rivalry between the 2 cities, which are the 2 economic powerhouses of Love and esterel.

Esterel City is the traditional industrial center and since several years Anjuna had tried to catch up by developing successfully its IT and biotech industry. The rivalry reached its paroxysm with 2 events in 2005:

  • The takeover of, the native from Esterel City, Purple Telecom Inc. by Anjuna’s based Wifiber Inc. Finaly the shareholders of Wifiber Inc asked for a merger of equal which give birth to Purple Wifiber Inc., the new highest market capitalization of the LAEX.
  • The development of The PalmTM project by El Neekmaar Properties Inc., for which the 2 cities where candidates. El Neekmaar Properties Inc. finally decided to build 2 projects, and to begin by Esterel City, from which the large company come from.

El Neekmaar Properties Inc. had also build ashore of Anjuna, The Burj Al Anjuna which is the first 8* hotel in the world and an icon of the city, and is constructing a mega project on the seafront: Anjuna Ocean Front (picture)


Anjuna is built around its main axis, Keish Deyaz Road (KDR) (picture above) which is several km long and which is partly underground, at the level of Sapients Plaza, since the plaza became a pedestrian zone. Sapients Plaza is the heart of vibrant, fashion commercial and entertainment area Yashibu District, the start and ending of the famous roller Anjunite Ride and the main area of celebration on "We are All Sapients" Day.
