Annastiina

The Canton of Annastiina is Nwoh's only Finnish-majority canton. The majority is truly profound considering it has only been a few months since the hundredth Finn landed on the Nwohan shore. The Finnish migrant wave was paralleled by the Sri Lankan wave which happened around the same time. Each wave brought an onslaught of immigrants to the shore, and the result was one canton for each ethnicity, Annastiina for the Finns and Cylon for the Sri Lankans. Many sociologists fear that Nwoh's policy of voluntary segregation will eventually create a nationwide catastrophe, but, so far, inter-ethnic peace has been the norm, not the exception.

In the November elections, the conservative Kansallinen Kokoomus, KKK, did significantly better than its socialist counterpart, Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue; however, the elections resulted in a split for the federal congressional members with two being from the KKK and one from the SSP. The KKK fears that the recently announced merger between the SSP and the similar Sri Lankan party, Mahajana Pakshaya, MJP, may fuel its rival in the next elections.

The 2006 census placed Annastiina's population at 40,000,000.

Lutheranism has a monopoly on religion in Annastiina.
