The anti Liberal League is a region of high regional power composed of generally right-wing and conservative nations. The people broadly oppose Liberalism and Social-Libertarianism, while forces such as Socialism and Marxism are frowned upon. A recent Forum poll gave showed 85% of members describing themselves as either "right-wing" or "far right", and a further 8% saying that they were "right of centre". No member claimed to be "left of centre", "left-wing" or "far left".

Alliances

The League has ratified the TNI - ALL Pact, a treaty of mutual alliance and military support, with The New Inquisition.

The League signed the Treaty of ACCEL on in Januray 2007, thereby securing their accession to ACCEL.

The League and The Anti Comintern Front have recently signed The Treaty of Mutual Support between the ALL and the ACF.

The League has rejected alliances with the Federation of United Regions and The International Fasicst Alliance, both on seperate occasions.

While many members remain sceptic about any alliances, it is often the case that a representative of the proposed alliance joins the forum to discuss it with the members. Epsilon Andromedae was such a nation, representing the Federation of United Regions.

Official League Policy

As the League is based solely on political views, it is often the case that most members are in agreement about many subjects. As such, there is a list of policy allocutions announced by the delegate stating the League's official view of many topics.

Political Parties

As most of the League's members are from the United States, the majority concensus is support for the Republican Party. While there are those who also suppor the American Fascist Party, the league officially denounces the Democrats, and urges all members to oppose them.

The League (and especially the forum) also has a lot of members from the UK. While most members express support for the British Conservative Party (the delegate is even a member) to some extent, support has also been shown for the UK Independence Party (UKIP) and even the British National Party (BNP). All members oppose the incumbent Labour Party, as well as the Liberal Democrats.

The League has only one French Member, but collectively support Le Front National de France or the 'French National Front'.

The League officially supports the Canadian Conservative Party.

The European Union

The League generally opposes the use of a single European Currecy (the Euro), this view is unanimous among British members. The League is split on its view on the European Union (EU) itself. Generally greater support is shown for the values European Economic Community (EEC), including the free-trade and no-tariff aggreements. British members oppose the EU as a majority, French members oppose it unanimously.

Immigration

A vast majority of members oppose large-scale immigration. This view remains consistent among memebers from the USA, the UK and France. All members oppose the Islamification of and preferential treatment of ethnic minorities in their respective nations.

Both Political Corectness, and 'Positive' Discrimination are regarded and hypocritical and wrong by the League.

Religion

The League is split on the topic of religion. Members are either atheist or Christian (including anti-clerical, Catholic, Protestant and Methodist). Debates about religion are often the most active on the forum, due to the fact there is rarely (if ever) an agreement between all members.

History

The Founding of the Region

The anti Liberal League was founded by Willic, and co-founded with the player of Land of Midgets in July 2006. Some of the first members to join were Schnecke, Schnauz, Anglo French Peoples and Luckin Fiberals. However, after this good start, regional membership did not rise. Willic and Land of Midgets decided a recruitment drive was necessary, which enabled the growth of the region to begin in ernest.

The Forum

As the Region grew, people were still having to contact one another and discuss issues on the Regional Message Board. Willic then decided to found a Forum, which still exists today. The Forum remains a place to discuss general issues regarding Nation States, the UN or the Region. Discussions about politics are frequent as well as more 'off-topic' subjects such as sport, music, games and quizzes.

The Change of Delegateship

As the region and Forum continued to grow, an incident occurred involving Willic and Anglo French Peoples. A glitch in the game system, along with incorrectly stated game rules resulted in the (to date) unjustified ejection of both nations from the UN. Schnecke was immediately elected Delegate in Willic's stead. Soon, the problem was mostly rectified, Schnecke agreed to hand over Delegateship. However, UN rules did not allow Willic nor Anglo French People's their membership, so Delegateship passed a second time to Harshhaven, a puppet nation of Willic. Anglo French Peoples has remained a non-UN member to date. In response to his co-operation and good work as Delegate, Schnecke was appointed a super-moderator on the Forum.

The Ministries

As the region was still growing, Harshhaven decided to formalise people's positions and duties within the region. Hence, the Ministries were set-up, each with a nation to take overall responsibility for each one. The original Ministries made it possible for the quick organisation of the anti Liberal League's forces and abilities.

Original Ministries

  • Region Leader and UN Delegate: Harshhaven
  • Minister for Recruitment: Land of Midgets
  • Head of Armed Forces: Land of Midgets
  • Head of Foreign Affairs: Schnecke
  • Ambassador to Moderators: Kansk
  • Ambassador to UN: Disorganized Ski Bums

Not long after his appointment as Ambassador to UN, Disorganized Ski Bums was appointed a Moderator on some areas of the forum. Land of Midgets declined such an offer.

The Byzantian War

After the creation of the first Ministries, it became apparent to many that some members had left the region to form their own splitter region, Byzantia. After much forum-based discussion, it was decided that Byzantia was to be invaded and destroyed. The full list of invading Nations (all UN members) are Allied Westerners, Con-States, Kontre, Schnecke, Schnauz, Dome Homes, Disorganized Ski Bums, Jammic and Land of Midgets. Two Mercenary Nations were also hired, Teklet and Mordecai Malignatus. The Invasion began well, as documented by Land of Midgets in the official anti Liberal League report on the war:

"The invasion was at first a great success. It seems that the nations of Byzantia did not at first realise an invasion was happening, and although we could have been ejected at any time, I (Land of Midgets) was able to eject and ban the founder, our only threat, approximately 24 hours after the invasion began."

At this point, the anti Liberal League was celebrating its seeming success in the war, but as is recorded by Land of Midgets as follows, much of the celebration was unjustified:

"However, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3rd, the founder returned by unknown means and ejected almost all of our invading nations. I (Land of Midgets) was therefore forced to admit defeat."

This caused a great issue for all the region's members, especially those who had fought. The war should have been won, the league had greater and more determined forces, had managed to eject and replace the enemy Delegate, and was in a position to destroy the enemy region. However, a rule glitch had once again caused misery for the league. Land of Midget's conclusion of the war summarises the view of most (if not all) of the Region's Members view's on the war:

"The invasion did not fail because of cowardice, incompetence, stupidity or any other negative qualities of the invading nations... The invasion did not fail because of poor planning or leadership... The invasion failed because nowhere in the rules does it say that a founder cannot be banned from his own region. The invasion failed because of the incompetence of those whose job it is to explain the rules, and who's failure to do so reflects badly on those who are understandably unaware of those rules."

To this date, there has been little mention of the Byzantian War from either party. Some of those who fought in the war have received Military Honours to commend their brave efforts.

The Second Ministries

On October 23rd, Harshhaven re-shuffled a few of the Ministries, introducing a new one in the process.

The Second Ministries

  • Region Leader and UN Delegate: Harshhaven
  • Minister for Recruitment: Land of Midgets
  • Head of Armed Forces: Land of Midgets
  • Head of Foreign Affairs: Schnecke
  • Ambassador to Moderators: Kansk
  • Ambassador to UN: Schnauz
  • Minister of the Forum: Disorganized Ski Bums

The New Ministries

In February 2007, a new set of Ministries was announced

  • Regional Leader and UN Delegate: Harshhaven
  • Minister for Recruitment: Kansk
  • Junior Minister for Recruitment: Land of Midgets
  • Head of Armed Forces: Land of Midgets
  • Head of Foreign Affairs: Schnecke
  • Minister to the Moderators: Disorganized Ski Bums
  • Minister to the Forum: Schnauz

UN Activity

The anti Liberal League has always had a difficult time in deciding its absolute and exact view on the UN. In theory, it is recognised as the only way to achieve real power and influence. This is certainly supported by the request made on the Region's Homepage:

"Please all join the UN and endorse our delegate, to make our region more powerful."

However, as is often discussed on the Forum, many members disagree with the majority of the UN proposals. Since the Delegate started a Forum based poll to decide how he should vote on each UN proposal, there have been twenty NAY resolutions and five AYE resolutions, three of which were supports for the repeal of a previous proposal. Statements such as "that proposal ruined my economy!" are commonplace on the Forum.

Despite this, most Ministers are UN members, and the region enjoys a fair percentage of UN members. Perhaps the region's view can best be summarised by a statement by Harshhaven on the forum:

"The UN exists mostly as an out-post for pro-liberal and leftist Nations to force their views upon those who would otherwise reject them... a clever and sly network of Delegates and UN members slow down or halt any remotely sensible (right-wing) Resolutions... But this UN is a necessary evil, alas there is no other way to increase regional influence or ensure our safety as a Region."

The Region has submitted two seperate proposals to the UN, but both received too few Delegate signatures to reach quorum and be debated on the UN floor.

ACCEL

On January 1st 2007, the League was admitted to join ACCEL (the Alliance of Capitalists, Conservatives and Economic Libertarians), following an application launched in December of 2006. Harshhavern was elected by the League to serve as ACCEL Director, and has recently been appointed Vice-Chairman.

Constitution

The League Adopted a Constitution in February 2007, outlining League laws, procedure and reforming the administration. Iy was widely accepted, and the league is always open to amendments.
