Apawa International is the only airport in the Federated Polynesian States, and is located on the island of Orowu, close to the capital city, Apawa.

It consists of a smallish building and a single runway which extends across part of the island. There is no boarding ramp; stairs are placed by the plane for passengers to enter and exit. When there are no scheduled flights, the runway doubles as a road for cars, motorbikes and bicycles, and is sometimes used by local youth as a makeshift football and baseball field (baseball nets have been erected along the sides).

Taxis ferry passengers to and from the airport. Check-in is usual quite quick, and the waiting room is cool by contrast with the usual hot, damp air outside. Departure tax from Apawa International is 45.
