HISTORY

The Aperin Cup of Nations is an international soccer tournament open to all nations within the continent of Aperin and their former colonies on the continents of Alçaera and Greenfields.

The tournament was founded by the Cirdanistan Football Association, which also hosted the first tournament. The inaugural final was played between teams from ParEcon and Celdonia before a crowd of 80,000 in the newly built Revolutionary Stadium. ParEcon ran out impressive 4-1 winners on the day. ParEcon are, as of 2006, the only team to have won the Aperin Cup of Nations.

The Socialist Whinger, an East Hackneyite tabloid of questionable standards, has to date been the most prominent commentator on the Cup, though it tends to remain ignorant of the existence of any matches not involving East Hackney.
