Due to the non-political nature of the nation of Apologetic Kittens only their sporting achievements shall be noted.

Sporting Achievements

Mens Football

The mens team first entered the international stage in the BoF preceeding World Cup 26. The Kittens side boasted an array of powerful amateurs, who forced their way through the tournament to make the later rounds. The same success was not transferred to the qualifiers, or the CoH, and the efforts were deemed a disaster.

However for the next cup many of the old guard were replaced by more technical youngsters, including the prodigal Newman, who remains the nations great hope for victory. Despite this the nation produced a performance little better with the Kittens racking up many draws on their way to a low finish.

The CoH showed, amongst the introductions, a new goalkeeper and entirely new dfence. These youngsters stopped all that came toward them and were the main reason, it could be claimed, that the Kittens reached the second round.

Hopes now lie on a successful World Cup qualifying campaign and the new additions to the squad. It's hoped to send Roberts out of international football with a bang. At 35 he has captained the Kittens from the very beginning but has yet to see the rewards his performances should surely deserve.

Womens Football

The women of Apologetic Kittens are currently participating in the Womens World Cup, with hopes of at least a second round place.

Those hopes lie with several star players. Ullman is very talented in goal, and has been a key figure in propelling her team to a position to chalenge the big two team in AKFL first division. Gettemy has been banging in goals in the top flight for several years and doesn't seem to be letting up now she's playing for her country.

The other star is the youngest player to ever play in the top league and also the youngest Kitten to ever play for their country, Marissa ritta.

Club Football

Two teams, Backstaffen United and Earlsford Rangers, have long been the dominant powers in Kittens football. However in recent years, funded by a local man, the small-town team of Lyton has begun to challenge the two.

The teams have also decided to occasionally play international competition in order to expand their fan base and perhaps spy some foreign talent now the several of the restricitions have been lifted from league football, notably the allowance of each squad to have up to three players from outside of the country.
