The Royal Sovereignty of Aralonia is a massive, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 2.76 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining industries.

Urban high-volume mailers now receive their mail via chauffer-driven limousines, senior citizens can usually be found doing heavy manual labour, the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, and the Supreme Court vehemently protects civil rights and the right to privacy. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate. Aralonia's national animal is the sand crab, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the ruble.

Previous Developments

Soon after appearing on the international board, Aralonia declared war with the country Red Tide2 for their completely inhumane use of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons on civillian population centers.

Satellite imagery shows the recent construction of a large covered naval construction yard, approximately 500 by 100 meters wide. Incredible amounts of supplies have been going into this area, with only barren trucks leaving the premises. What the Aralonians hope to accomplish is currently highly classified, though with the surge in immigrants and in the national economy, the construction of some sort of large object is undisputed.

For the next ten years, the entire Religion and Spirituality budget and portions of the Military budget have been completely shunted into the purchase of a new aircraft carrier, battlecruiser, and two fleet tenders. The remainder of the Military budget seems to be falling into a black hole.

The conflict in Red Tide has been resolved, due to the acts taken against that nation by Aequatio, The Silver Sky, Wilhelmsborough, Anagonia, and Aralonia herself. Aequatio and The Silver Sky still maintain a military presence in this nation.

The black hole has been seen to be the development of Aralonia's own class of battleships, though the remainder of this hole seems to be still unknown. Speculation runs high while discussing where exactly this money went.

Aralonia's naval air arm consists mainly of remotely operated drones, to lessen the amount of losses that may be taken from massive amounts of anti-air weaponry that other nations seem to possess. This lesson was learned after Wilhelmsborough took incredible losses in the opening salvoes of the Red Tide conflict.

Actions against the populace in the nation of Mer des Ennuis too have not gone unnoticed by the Aralonian government, with the Aralonian Third Expeditionary Fleet led by Vice Admiral Daniel Hawking being dispatched to that combat theater.
