History
The Beginning
The Community of Archeba was founded on March 1st, 2007. Archeba was quickly admitted into the United Nations and immediatly began participating activly in the UN and the regional politics of the Pacific, the first region Archeba belonged to. While The Pacific was a good beggining region it was simply to large for a nation to have a real voice and so after a few short weeks Archeba left the region.
The Northern Union
Archeba was still in the Pacific when a telegram was recieved inviting Archeba to join the fledgeling region known as The Northern Union. As one of the few UN members in the region Archeba was elected the regional Delegate and was commited to increasing the Union's Regional Power,despite the founder's apparent opposition to this. Archeba managed make the the Union into a strong nation in a matter days. Unfortunatly at this time The Northern Union began to die a very slow and incredibly painful death. Archeba appointed a successor and left the Union.
Exile
Archeba wandered for a month or so, never really settling in any region. Archeba assisted several regions in getting set up and establishing themselves as modestly powerful nations that were able to withstand a good raid now and then. But other than that nothing really happened during this period.
The Praetorian Empire
While camping out in the Black Emipre region, Archeba discovered a region known as The Praetorian Empire. Archeba, upon closely examining and scrutinizing every part of The Praetorian Empire, determined that this was an excellent region and would suit Archeba nicely. A telegram containing a request to join the Empire was sent to Sergeant General, the founder of the Praetorian Empire. Archeba was soon appointed Tactical General and moved to the Legion Barracks to await orders for raids. Following a massive reorganization of the Empire's hierarchy the position of Tactical General was abolished and Archeba became an average nation again, albeit one that participates extensively in various matters of the Empire's government.
Government
The Archeban government consists of a single branch with a single body, the Archeban Supreme Council. Every 2 years an election is held to determine the members of the council, however the posistion of Supreme Chairman (held by Grand Admiral Maikeru) does not have an election and has not changed since Chairman Maikeru assumed office. Each council member is in charge of a differant department. Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Transportaion and so on. The Vice Chairman is the Director of National Defense, however Admiral Maikeru as the Commander-in-Chief and head of the High Command has full and unchallenged control of the military. A secret police force "takes care of" any opposition to the government's structure.
Economy
Archeba has a strong economy with a powerhouse of a private sector that is led by the Gambling, Soda Sales, and Trout Farming industries. The average income tax rate is 94%, and even higher for the wealthy. The Archeban Dollar is at a 10 year high, just 20 cents below the American Dollar. The government focuses most of its reasources on military funding and in support of the successful space program. Archeba has several permanently occupied stations in orbit and mining operations on 30 or so large asteroids. All space activities are coordinated from the Endymion Lunar Base.
